I will say it's worth it, sleeping without pain is a game-changer. You'll second guess your decision during physical therapy but it's worth it. Good luck man! Make sure go to do your daily stretches.

The hemorrhoids that have been causing intermittent droplets of blood in my shit over the past year finally started producing daily blood. Colonoscopy last March showed nothing worse than the hemorrhoids and a benign polyp. So the specialist in Houston did a “finger and mini-shallow-scope exam.” Bent me over a 45 degree angled table with handlebar grips under the sides and went to town. Thank God the dude has dainty digits. He told me “I didn’t find anything unusual” to which I replied “Not for any lack of effort!” In any event, the options are full hemorrhoidectomy, staple them all in one procedure, or do a sequence of “tie-off” procedures (there are as many as 6 “tiny” ones in addition to Mount Vesuvius). But the doc did ask me about my shitting habits, and particularly how long each session lasts. I said that I dutifully get up and off the can soon after my legs go numb. So he suggested a few weeks of no phone and no magazines in the shitter, and literally to shit, then get off the pot. We’ll see where this goes. Have you tried a bidet? I never had the roids as bad as you, but have had no issues since getting a bidet 5 years ago.

If you found out early enough there are things that will keep the destruction to a minimum. My wife has had if for 10-12 years and takes a Remacade infusion every 8 weeks. Her hands are kinda gnarly but they haven't gotten worse since the treatments began. There is a thread somewhere about immune disorders, @Sbbruin started it. Lots of good info there. Good luck.

April 20, 20223 yr My tennis elbow flared up something fierce last week. I have a sleeve I wear for a couple of hours when it gets bad but I've had to wear the thing for the entire day this past week. Knock on wood, I haven't needed it today. It makes me extra ragey because I haven't played tennis in 25 years. Come up with a better name, docs.

Well technically it's called lateral epicondylitis, but most people would freak out if they were told they had that.

Mayo clinic says “Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) is a painful condition that occurs when tendons in your elbow are overloaded, usually by repetitive motions of the wrist and arm.” If you’re not playing tennis, it sounds like you’re spending too much time making other repetitive motions with your wrist and arm. Maybe stop that before you go blind. Edited April 21, 20223 yr by nnm

Playing baksetball helps keep the weight off as I am exercising and typically not eating as much. I swear it seems like I gain at least a pound a day if I travel any on business and it takes forever to get the weight back off. If I just look at food it latches onto me.
April 22, 20223 yr Wife is heading out to the acupuncturist this morning to help with her shoulder, and needing my help to get her bra on (due to aforementioned shoulder issues). But the strap got folded under itself and tucked deep inside her shirt, so I'm really struggling to get the thing attached and put on. I finally said, "Oh my God. We've come full circle. From struggling to get the bra off to struggling to put it on."

Used to play all the time. Much of my time away from work is spend with two kids that play sports at a pretty high level, so always shuttling them around to practices, etc. So I ruck a lot. Keep an old backpack in the truck loaded down pretty heavy. It's great for the legs and core, and when you add in hills/stairs, a real kick in the ass that is still low impact. During the summer months when the days are longer, I come back drenched in sweat.

I’ll know she’s getting old if she forgets the latter part of the maneuver.

I've found that I have to wear my band constantly (other than sleeping) for weeks to allow the tennis elbow to completely subside. If I take it off when the pain ceases, it will come right back when I do something like using the leaf blower. I've had mine on every day now for a month. With it one I have little problem using my right arm, but still favor it somewhat.

April 27, 20223 yr Has anyone tried the eye drops that are supposed to eliminate the need for reading glasses? They are called Vuity and require a prescription.

I saw that a little while back. I'll wait a few years to see how it performs and what side-effects actually occur with regular use. Right now, I have one of my distance contacts dialed back 1.5 which works the same as wearing 1.5 readers.
April 27, 20223 yr Has anyone tried the eye drops that are supposed to eliminate the need for reading glasses? They are called Vuity and require a prescription. It’s not really a new drop, just new marketing. It’s pilocarpine which has been used for decades to lower pressure in glaucoma. It fell out of favor because of headaches or brow aches that weee fairly common. It also decreases ability to see in low light situations so driving at night is pretty much out. A small effect of retinal tears or detachments is also documented.

His was near his temple and the post surgery pic he looked looked like a cadaver with a bullet hole on the side of his head
May 6, 20223 yr How the hell does my right hip still ache two days after picking dewberries? There was a lot of bending and reaching, so it aching yesterday made sense. Still aching today? Fuck this shit.
