Yeah, I've never been able to find that spot again. I've been trying different spots on my arm with no luck, I feel like a junkie looking for a vein. Fuck this shit!

I was told to place it about 2 fingers down from the elbow and not to cinch it down too hard.

Hold a couple of fingers from the opposite hand over the lateral (outside) part of the meat of your forearm, like you were trying to take your pulse.  Move your wrist up and down.  When you feel the muscle tighten up as your wrist extends (comes up), that's the muscle you want to center over.  Hit it on the fattest portion of your forearm.

That will be tree fiddy.

I know I'm setting myself up, but we all know Surly is the place to go for medical advice. My doctor retired and I just left my initial visit with my new one. I like him but he is very young and I've known him since he was a kid. Currently, I take no medication for anything. All my test always come back in the normal range. After reviewing all my numbers and running some programs he wants me to consider two things. First taking a low dose statin, though I think I'm going to have a calcium CT before doing this to see if it's necessary. Secondly, and I'm dead serious, he wants me to take daily Cialis for BPH. It's FDA approved for it and most reviews say it helps. Has anyone taken either of these long term and are there any bad side effects? I know what Cialis is good for, but I've been married for over 40 years so boning like a 25 year old is not that big a deal anymore. I just don't want to deal with side effects if I can avoid them.

The low level statin caused stiffness and near paralysis in my legs. Even after I stopped the statin, the side effects continued for several weeks. Same situation for me, old doc retired and the new, young doc wanted me to do the statin because I'm Type II Diabetic. If you are getting by without it, I would recommend that you don't start it. The Cialis? No idea. I'm old but I don't need any outside help for that stiffness.

Thanks, I had a friend warn me about the exact same thing concerning statins. I usually tolerate meds well, but I've had some bad experiences with meds in the past couple of years and I'm debating which way to go.

I've been on a statin and Tadalafi (pretty sure it's genetic Cialis) for several years. My genetics suck when it comes to cholesterol. I'd prefer not to take it, but I more prefer not dying before 60 like my grandfather did, or have multiple heart attacks like my father did by the time he was my age. I do a lot of diet management and cardio, and my numbers are good, but I expect I'll be on it the rest of my life. I also have BPH. I've been lucky and have had zero negative effects from either, and I'm usually the king of side effects. When I first started on the Cialis I had shooting pain down the backs of my legs. I guess it's due to blood pressure dropping. I actually went off it. A year later the inability to pee, and enjoy sex had only gotten worse with the other meds I was trying. Went back on it and had the same thing happen. This time I decided to ride it out and took pain killers to help. My body adjusted and I reduced the pain killers and eventually stopped them altogether. Have had zero issues since and the med works great... in both areas.

I always get a kick out of old/middle age, fat guys wanting to fight. They don't realize that they have about 30-45 seconds of fighting, sometimes very bad fighting, in them. If you wait them out, you could kick the shit out of them when they're bent over wheezing and unable to move. But that's also about the time their wives jump in to save them from their stupid decisions.

About 3 years ago, my primary care doctor sent me to a urologist for low testosterone and BHP.   Taking testosterone can make BHP even worse, so I ended up starting testosterone injections and two daily meds for BHP: Alfuzosin and sildenafil (Viagra).  A boner drug once a day? Oh, hell yes.  I have no negative side affects and all I can say is the combination of meds feels like it has turned the clock back 20 year physically, emotionally, & mentally.   Instead of fantasying about retirement, I mind is more about living life to it's fullest.

You don't need luck.  You and the doctor's have this.  My Grandpa had two of these after the age of 70.  He lived to be 100.  But just in case.

So i decided to replace some French drains yesterday, went from 4" to 6". I knew I was going to hurt but today it's like I have been ran over. It hurts in places I'm just learning about after all these years. ec24b6e7910d11bc1dae39273856947b.jpgd5fc083784f6b40f82663fe2bf14d18d.jpg91fbd41dd307c07494faea6e071a8b24.jpg8d248982edce96337dea72af9063fc54.jpg

See if Kayleigh can do something to help that.

I had an ablation performed back in April to correct my SVT. Had lay still for about 4 hours on my back in recovery. Couldn’t even cross my legs at the ankles.

Back started to hurt.
