The first 8 minutes are devoted to Augie. Great story by Bucky on his time with Augie at the University of Illinois. Celebration 2PM today. LHN will broadcast.
April 9, 20187 yr TTT RIP Baseball, life, master philosopher. But that's just my opinion, man. Thanks for the memories.
April 9, 20187 yr Anyone else watching this on LHN? Huston Street just spoke and was having trouble keeping it together. Also, Bill Little's goiter has grown tenfold recently.
April 9, 20187 yr Mack just said that DeLoss was “the cheapest sucker there ever was” and that he was surprised that, when they renamed 23rd street in front of DKR after him, he didn’t try to turn the road into a tollway.
April 9, 20187 yr Watching this. If you get the chance, make sure you watch it as well. Kevin Costner was great.
April 9, 20187 yr Author Great tribute ! Many great individual comments especially by Huston, James Barton, Shaka, and Mark Kotsay. Several Fullerton former players in attendance. Jim Schlossnagle, TCU, also in attendance. I now forgive him for the dogpile on the Longhorn logo in 2010. LHN rebroadcast today at 6PM, 11PM, and Tues, 1PM, 8PM, per TV guide. Edit: If you record, it is a 2 hour program. Edited April 9, 20187 yr by torre
April 10, 20187 yr The tribute by James Barton (bullpen catcher from 2013-2016) was outstanding. Wise beyond his years and very poised for someone who is fresh out of college. Overall a really fantastic gathering of people who seemed positively affected by Augie. Seemed to be an onslaught of dust in my house when I watched it.
April 10, 20187 yr Author RIP, Great One ! Quote Garrido is survived by his wife, Jeannie, and daughter, Lisa. Garrido was buried at the Texas State Cemetery on Sunday, next to former UT football coach Darrell K Royal. https://www.hookem.com/story/former-texas-coach-augie-garrido-remembered-for-his-real-accomplishments/

April 11, 20187 yr Watched it last night. I thought Huston and Kotsay were the two best speakers. Lotsa good stuff.
