July 8, 20196 yr With the big High pressure system that's settling over my house, this storm will be lucky to make it to the Texas coast. And if it does, it will simply bounce off, or vanish like Keyser Soze.
July 8, 20196 yr headed to NOLA Wed-Sun...will report back on cannibalism. At least they’ve upgraded the Superdome since Katrina. It should be pretty nice this go around.

July 8, 20196 yr This could be very dangerous if it gets enough time over the gulf. The gulf is steaming right now and shear isn’t supposed to be a factor. Most models also forecasting rapid deepening at some point doesn’t help.

July 9, 20196 yr Whole lotta convection going on around that low pressure since it made its way into the gulf today.

July 9, 20196 yr Any idea how things would be looking for a Friday day trip to Galveston? No rain in the forecast so far
July 9, 20196 yr Just got back from the Caribbean so I have to catch up on this thing, but it looks like it's going to pull North or east and not so much toward us. How have an update when I get my ass in a chair here tonight.

July 9, 20196 yr Yeah, I don't think this is going to do much west of New Orleans. I'll keep an eye on it but for the most part, nah.
July 9, 20196 yr De plane flies tomorrow, should know more about it. Stay away from Galveston this weekend
July 10, 20196 yr Looks like this is not going to be a big deal for Texas at this point, save maybe the Sabine River area. The more it heads east, it will suck up moisture and pump up the temps across most of the state. And after a wet May and June, so be it! BTW .... Here is a good message board to follow during hurricane season and other severe weather events. A bunch of Texas based Mets from both the public and private sector post on here. http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/viewforum.php?f=59&sid=afec8f8535ed61f9dff3463447032d74

Wasn’t a thread clearly marked “Barry” for simpletons. The thread ATL: invest 92L seems like the right one but hard to know Any guidance?
July 10, 20196 yr Yeah, Storm2K is like here during football season, with 1000's of posts for a single storm. But they organize storm threads into "Models" "Discussions" and "Recon." "Recon" is for numbers, wind speeds, pressures, nerd stuff. "Models" can get interesting for seeing the (dozens of) different models. "Discussion" is where you'll find chatter about the storms, with personal predictions and local observations. This is the most useful place if a storm is close to you. Otherwise, Models is good in advance of a storm, like a few days to a week prior.

Use the little map at the top of the forum for guidance on the designations of the different systems. Edited July 10, 20196 yr by Nueces River Rat

July 10, 20196 yr Got my plywood, if it stays that course, or goes further west, probably head south, then make my way up to Austin. Avoid Houston at all cost. I'm guessing this is off the info the hurricane hunters gathered? Or have they not flown through yet? Edited July 10, 20196 yr by Dewey

July 10, 20196 yr New Orleans already got over 6” of rain. New Orleans is a whore, but she can’t take the length.

That would wipe out every everything within 50 miles of the coast in east Texas and Louisiana. Biggest disaster ever.
