  • Boise State hasn't won a game in 40 years.

  • To answer your question, following 50 years of two of the greatest coaches in baseball history, we have relative nobody David Pierce.  The jury is still out on him in pretty much every respect. L

Mizzou? They are terrible. We should beat them convincingly.

Figured they would be. I remember them being somewhat salty back in the old big 12 but whatever. Let’s kick some sec ass

Great chat with @TexasBaseball
skipper David Pierce after seeing the #Horns the other day. I mentioned Trey Faltine as a really impressive freshman. Sounds like he has nailed down the SS spot going into the spring. Andre Duplantier in great shape to get 3B as well.

Really like the young players. Hodo/Duplantier/Faltine (especially) all impressive. Hansen (another freshman) will be a good one for UT on the mound at some point soon.

What was you’re takeaway from the game?

@TexasBaseball1B Zach Zubia is down to 10 percent body fat. That’s extremely impressive considering where he was two summers at the Northwoods League.

Yep.... Zubia changed his body Fo Sho!!

*Yep. Firing Haig, bringing in Huston and Tulowitzki is going to pay off big time. Then with the freshman class and some jucos to overhaul the roster. And we’ll finally have some upper class leadership with Ellis, Todd, DJ, Zubia, Elder, Whelan and Quintanilla. That sophomore core of Cobb, Bryant and Madden got a shit ton of innings last year while Kennedy and Ford looked pretty solid last year. Add in a healthy Diaz and Peters and we may have something here.*

Now i'm getting fired up for the season.  I'm already planning the trip my daughter and I are going to take to Omaha this summer.

I suppose the new facilities and tech were a joint effort by Pierce and DelConte?

I was given to understand that a lot of top programs had/used facilities/technology like this and Augie, old-schooler that he was, had little or no interest.  Another reason we were falling behind.

Pierce of course wanted this facility and CDC knew it necessary based on what he built at TCU.

It's a bad omen that Herman broke ground first on the new SEZ (alongside the major donors and UT administration, obviously).  But we won't be our head coach when it's open for the 2021 season.  Shaka is breaking ground on the new hoops arena next week; and   He won't be our head coach when it opens up 2+ seasons from now.  Center broke ground on our badass tennis facility, and two years later he might be going to federal prison.

Now Pierce broke ground on just a practice facility, and it's already opened so I fully expect him to be our head coach for awhile and to turn the baseball ship back around in the right direction.

I'm feeling big things from Hodo. That kid is an amazing athlete and from excellent stock.

We can only hope.  The overall state of Texas sports, save maybe swimming/diving and golf, is grim.  So grim.

Tennis. Softball, T&F, Rowing and volleyball are all in good enough spots.

Volleyball was horribly disappointing.  Hence the post.

That's JE. Disappointed would have been not making the sweet 16, no way to expect a title with JE. When he wins the next, I'll definitely appreciate it but I never expect it.

The name...no way they watched the games

Looked through the roster for the first time yesterday out of curiosity. This has to be UT’s most, uhm, “athletic” team ever. Pretty neat.

Can’t fuckin wait. Really curious to see what DP does with pretty much an overhauled roster minus the handful of solid players last year

Please Christmas baby Jesus may we please have a really good team this year. It’s all I really want for Christmas.
