We gonna flood. Onion creek is up, and there's a shitload more coming.

Power just went out for the second time in the last 12 hours. I'm not interested in surfing porn on a smartphone.

bull creek is flooded like a mofo in some spots.

Some pretty good inflows at the lakes right now. Probably won't last too long since the ground is drinking it all up.

Pissed I didn't get my rain gauge fixed before this. Weather station in Manor is reporting 4.41" since midnight.

I'm pretty sure you won't be within the next 3 hours (daughter lives in Texas City/Clear Lake City area.

Are you saying your daughter is going to be wet within the next 3 hours?

AS my finger was letting up on the "submit" button the thought occurred to me that someone would comment to that effect.  You win.

I don’t know about stanco, I think he’s farther north than me, but we’ve measured a little over 1.5” near Toledo bend.

That’s a big fucking cell that’s moving just southeast of us. They’ve been getting fucking hammered. Hope everyone is ok over there.

South padre hasn’t gotten a drop, was told this was gonna be a horrific storm down south, yet to get anything

Been stuck at Hobby since 9:30, trying to get back to Austin. I hate it when they continually tease and give hope.

This storm tracked a long front, about 2,000 miles, from Iowa down past the Rio Grande.  Often the southern edge of these things are so long they have trouble moving out.  Some of this front more or less stalled SW→NE across Southeast Texas.  That front provided a conveyor belt for storms to track right up it, and they were just south of the bulk of us (a few edges made it across S/SE Travis and even into far S. Austin).  This is why you kept hearing thunder as these things tracked to our south.

Kinda cool - I heard them too for at least 2-3 hours in Bee Cave.

New drought map out later today.  I'll post it when it gets released.
Basically, there is no drought at all now E of about U.S. 83 (cuts through Texas N/S about 100 miles W. of Austin.  This was about the most widespread drought-busting storm we've had since 2007.   Unfortunately, the panhandle didn't get shit.  They're really in trouble up there.

Edit: Well the new drought map is out, but it reflects conditions as of 2 days ago (maps released every Thursday reflecting conditions up through that previous Tuesday); this was just before the rains hit, so it doesn't reflect the aftermath.  Have to wait until next week!

You talking about the airlines or your women?

The Houston media is desperately looking for flooded areas.
Channel2 lady was in ankle high water, looked scary.

Got a little over 2" last night but it sure announced itself.  North of town saw upwards of 5" - 6" and apparently got pretty rough.  I'll stick with an easy 1" - 2" a week, please.

I dumped 10 inches of rain out of my rain gauge last night.  I'm not sure we actually got that much as the closest official gauge recorded about 6.  The lightning was unbelievable as well.

Spent the night at Hobby and grabbed a Megabus to get back to Austin this morning. Fuck, I'm tired.

#145

Didn't do shit until I was getting into bed, then thunder and lightning and the dog freaking out until after 3 am.

Watch your cornholes in the Tennessee and Ohio Valleys tomorrow.  There is a good part of East Texas included in that as well.  It's probably always a good idea to watch your cornhole anytime you are in the aforementioned areas.

Finally remembered to check the rain gauge last night. After a few days of evaporation, still had 4.5 inches in there. Not too shabby. If we could just get one more decent shower later this week, we should be free of the green dust.

Is there a winter weather thread yet? My parents had to go to Iowa for a funeral and my mom just sent me a text letting me know it's 32° up there with occasional snowflakes.
