Fizzling out coming souf.  For most, it's simply dying out due to the sun setting/lack of warm air rising.
But here, oh no.  Forcefielded!

It skirted right around me and made a lurch to the west. I'm ok with that on this night.

Im really enjoying the light show and temps outside right now. Ac is broken so it’s a nice change.

very enjoyable little sprinkle with light thunder in 78703

I see the summer misery switch has been flipped. 98 at the house today - almost 10 degrees hotter than yesterday's highs.

Any storms going to fire up this evening again?

Welcome to Hell

Today it was 97.  Tomorrow the hot weather arrives.

Had two hours of sweet thunder, lightning and some wind 10 miles south of Blanco last night. Rancher in the area said he had 2.1 inches. Almost had to engage heated seats this morning 😂

It is miserable Houston hot here in Centex right now.  96 in Hewitt with 55% humidity.  And it's only 2:05.  Ugggh

Looks like a few storms popping up out west.
Please?

Texas is on the verge of another drought like 2011 if we don’t start getting rain soon.

Because once the summer high kicks in for good, we’re proper fucked.

Weirdest thing last night at around 2 - huge clap of thunder, poured for a minute or two then drizzled for another 10-15 .... then nothing.

Certainly feels like we’re headed for an extremely hot, dry summer. Other than the occasional pop up afternoon thunderstorm, I doubt we’ll be getting anything substantial any time soon.

No rain in the forecast other than Sunday’s small rain chance.

We are screwed for a while.

Tornado warning near Leander?

I haven't been paying attention . . . I didn't even know it might rain today.

Good soaking right now in 46 near 360. Not much wind and steady. My lawn is happy.

F’ing pouring in Great Hills. Sitting on our covered patio. My 2.5 year old loves the thunder.

Today I learned what rain chains are. Good thing, too, because I was looking for a gutter spout alternative for our back patio.

Good soaking rain in round rock. Not going to be heavy enough to make much of an impact on the lakes but I hope they are getting something out of this.

1.4” between 7:30 and about 9:30, with most of that in 30 minutes or so after 9:00 am in 78759

They are rad. I got talked into the link ones by my wife. Would have rather had ones with the little cups.

Busted forecast in Dallas yesterday for only 20% chance of rain has led to widespread rain this morning. Great for the lawn. Bad for the Byron Nelson.

We still talking bout rain chains?  Pics of wife?

Well, this 40% was a bullseye.  Soak it up, beyotches, because 99°+ is comin' later next week.
However, this should keep the grass green for an extra week and a half.
Most of the damage for the rest of the day is going to be north of us, but there is one wave coming in from the west, that if it holds, will pummel us about 3-4 p.m.
Outside threat of brief strong storms, a la that little Tornader that spun up near Leander.  Most of that stuff will be weak, short lasting, and very focused, but sucks if it goes through your chicken coop.

Blessings, my children.  Have a wunnerful day.

Feels like we are setting up for another 2011. Thoughts on that?

THIS, my friends, is how you do the weather thread.  +rep.
