May 21, 20196 yr So, my house was built in the 50's. I was giving the fireplace a serious end-of-season cleaning, and man, it's in pretty shitty shape. It's a no-shit brick fireplace. There are a lot of cracked bricks, missing grout, etc. I'm afraid that it's shot. Last year I sold a home with a bad fireplace, and the seller ended up paying for a pellet burning insert for the defective box. I wished I had asked more questions, but, like the guy in Penthouse Forum getting blown by two hot chicks at the same time, I never thought this would happen to me. Anybody got one?
May 22, 20196 yr Hell, I always thought anyone with a fireplace had an insert. Fireplaces suck ass without them.

May 24, 20196 yr Author natural gas, which is nice. But, the regs (out here at least) are pretty strict for new fireplace installs. I want to maintain the look of the original fireplace, to some extent anyway.
May 27, 20196 yr Does it have a gas log starter in the fire place. That plus an adapter and a good gas log set is all you need.

May 28, 20196 yr Author I figure that the house burning down could happen if I use the fireplace. I'm trying to avoid that.
