I think Barty will handle Serena relatively easily in the 4th round. My picks are Nadal on the mens side (duh) and I'll take Halep on the womens. Bencic and Barty will make noise I think

Zero fucking chance Serena plays 3 matches to get to Barty.

Svitolina should never be considered a factor at a Slam, she absolutely cannot win 7 matches.

Kyrgios withdraws from the French Open, will be replaced by a lucky loser.

Any given reason? He hasn’t played since the ATP fined him

Don't know, but it might be a combination of A) him being on tilt recently and B) his well-known disdain for clay as a surface.

Dayana Yastremska just won her second title of the season in Strasbourg. She’s good, & 19.

Nadal and Sabalenka for me. Nadal because Nadal, Sabalenka because she's steadily been getting better and better and it feels like she's close to breaking through.

I don't think Sabalenka is there yet. Anisimova might take her out in round 2. We shall see

Aryna is not a contender right now. Won 3 matches in Strasbourg to get her record to a blistering 8-8 since Fed Cup in February. She ain’t winning 7 on clay.

Petra withdraws, damn. Will she ever get that #1 next to her name?

Looks like it's a grade 2 tear... major setback

Whoa, Wozniacki's out despite a first-set bagel.

Amazing to see a drop shot as a service return.

It's weird to see Chartrier mostly empty during a match.  I get that it's a work day in Paris but early rounds of Slam are the best.   At least on the side courts.

Did they break up the ticket packages like the USOpen or something?

Brett Haber is the other announcer

Serena getting blown out by some Russian girl right now, down 5-2 in the first.  But I don't doubt her ability to get serious and start rolling.

How much does that loss have to do with her ex, JJ Watt, getting engaged?

Watt was briefly her rebound fling after she broke up with Rory McIlroy, I think. Don't know if it was ever much of a serious thing.

I'm watching Thiem v. Paul.

Are there a lot of Paul fans (or just Americans) in the crowd or is Thiem unpopular?

He reminds me of Andy Roddick.

Osaka's really struggling. Got bageled in the first set, second set has gone to a tiebreak.

naomi won a grand total of NINE points in the first set.  she takes the second set though, schmiedlova started getting tight.

Damn, Osaka turned things around quickly. Now leading 5-1 in set #3.

Zverev takes an unconvincing Round 1 win over John Millman.

Only 1 of the 9 American men won their 1st round match. The USTA has spent the last 5 years of player development to get US players better on clay. It's not working!

FFS Dimitrov, finish the damn match! Up 5-1 in the fifth set, he's already blown two match points on his own serve.

Kiki Bertens retired after only 4 games, she was one of the popular picks.

del Potro got pushed to the limit by some random Japanese wild-card. But it looks like he'll escape.

Yeah, that sucks.

Bottom is a wreck now, winner of Elina/Garbiñe today should get Sloane next, then that survivor is chillin’.

9-all in Sevastova/Mertens on DTV 704. We already had one 11-9 finish today, FO the only one without a TB now.

And she continues to be completely irrelevant in Slams, 2 holds in 9 service games.

Garbine could steal this thing again.
