May 24, 20196 yr Just watch porn then go to the dog park. Or go to the dog park then watch porn. Whatever floats your boat. It will be better than the letdown of the end of the series.

May 24, 20196 yr Murder She Wrote is on Amazon Prime, and you're choosing to spend your time on Game of Thrones?
May 24, 20196 yr Parts of season 4 were worth watching but that's definitely when it started to go downhill. I stopped watching after that.
May 24, 20196 yr you start flirting with this chic. as you get to know her, she becomes even hotter. and she gets even more beautiful and complex with a range of depth and emotions and intelligence you have never experienced before. then after 5 years into the relationship, she starts becoming a little stupid but you look past it because she is still hot as hell and is still generally great. then 6 and 7 years, things start to go a little off, like the pharmacy company stopped making her meds that you never knew she took. she becomes a little incoherent. the long engaging conversations are mostly filled with sex and fights to past the time away. then in the 8th year, she becomes batshit crazy. nothing she says or does makes sense. it's like this person resembles absolutely nothing like the person you knew for the first 5 years. and then one day out of the fucking blue, she reveals that she was a dude and wants to have an operation to get his penis back and become a dude again. but hey, you'll always have the memories of first 5 years to carry you through. the above may or may not have any similarities to the show that you'll watch. May 24, 20196 yr Stop after season 5 and wait for the fat man to finish the books. Or you could read the books if you want, but that's for fags. It is known.
May 24, 20196 yr I've only watched through season 5 and agree with the up-to-that-point take. I don't think there was a dip from season 3 to seasons 4 and 5 - and I probably enjoyed 5 the most.

May 24, 20196 yr Author So there are two things my daughters read/watched and wanted me to read/watch that I never did, and those were Harry Potter and GOT. The first Harry Potter book was so fucking awful that I stopped there. (I did watch the Harry Potter movie that was directed by the Mexican out of national (origin) pride, but that was it.) So I figure I should watch this. I will admit that I generally have a three or four season limit, so I'm not completely optimistic that I'll make it through. My initial thought, apart from liking the dogs. 1) The dwarf is the only character I really give a shit about. 2) I keep wanting Utred son of Utred to show up and kick some ass. I think he could take anyone other than the big Hawaiian. 3) For some reason, this has made me think about how fucking outstanding Rome was, and how it would have been cool if that series had gone on further.

May 25, 20196 yr S1-S7 is great with a few exceptions. S8, while a visual feast, was a rushed mess. I have zero issues with the way it ended(where everyone ended up, except one character whose whole progression was ruined), just the rush to get to that ending.
May 25, 20196 yr My advice is to do your best to stay away from anything about the show to avoid spoilers. It's been around long enough and spoilers are so rampant for someone who hasn't watched it that that might be tough. So stop reading anything that mentions it. Change the channel if they say anything about it on the TV. That's the best way to really appreciate the show. And yest the quality drops off when they show runners outpace the source material and then rush the ending, but it is still good TV.

May 25, 20196 yr I too started watching for the first time, a couple of days after the finale. Four episodes in, and of course it’s great.
May 25, 20196 yr Turn subtitles on. It really went a long way in helping me remember everyone’s name, and just following the story in general. And don’t listen to some of these dudes. This show was great season 1-6. Season 7 was entertaining, but slightly rushed. Season 8 was rushed to the point where they almost could’ve made it two seasons, but instead we got 6 episodes.

May 30, 20196 yr Author Starting Season 3. Not a slog, but slowing down. The dragon mother bits -- that shit really needs to pick up fast. I'm chalking this up to me not really being all that into this genre. The male Starks including the bastard -- solid dudes but a bit on the boring side.
May 30, 20196 yr you realize you've lost the ability to say with a superior smirk that you never watched that shite whenever GOT comes up in conversation.

June 24, 20196 yr Author Thank God for Uncle Binjin. I guess he was eating squirrels and frozen berries and then thankfully he was in the area when it mattered. In the middle of season 7. Solid B to B+ work. Weaknesses - still bored with the dragon lady. I haven't seen the dwarf catapulted, but crossing my fingers. I'm okay with Bran/Bram dying -- he was a cute kid but has turned into a tiresome adolescent cripple. I like the Hound -- kind of reminds me of the Aias (Ajax) guy in the Illiad. Fuck the gods and fuck fate and fuck you. I also am liking the pure Circiness of Circe. Ready to wind this baby down and catch up on some reading.

June 26, 20196 yr Author What in the hell? That was worth than shooting a single shot into that hole in the death star and blowing it up. That was worse than jar jar unplugging the clones.
June 26, 20196 yr I saw one episode of this and they were obsessed with choppin off dicks. Never watched it again. I like the song South Park made about it though.

June 26, 20196 yr Author Well, I'm a sucker for "going west to the new world" type endings. Wasn't near as good as the going west ending of Godless, but still. Although made much more depressing by the "Go further north" destiny of you know who. When all is said and done, if it has magic and dragons, I'm not going to give it more than a B+. I've got some weird visceral dislike of of these gimmicks. Not sure why. Maybe I'm just an unimaginative heartless bastard.
