I'd be curious to hear how it goes, any tips or suggestions, etc., as I'll be there in two weeks.

The 200 sections seems like the best seats, alot of the 100s are obstructed view, like mine lol. If you're prone to motion sickness, bring a relief band or some Dramamine or something. That screen is fuckin WILD.

Don't miss the Dead Ahead experience at the Venetian, lotta cool stuff and merch for the Vegas residency. And Shakedown Street at the Tuscany is great, lotta good stuff there! Got a tie dye onesie with a dancing bear for my newborn, and there's some great custom art t-shirts for "Shakedown Strip"

Happy New Year from Monet Weir. She posted a bunch of photos reflecting on the past year. Here are a few that stood out.

  • Just got this yesterday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  • Jerry used to say that the Dead were like licorice. Not everybody likes licorice. But the people who do like licorice really, really like licorice.  It's not really a love 'em or hate 'em thing.

They are so ON at the Sphere, I think the residency is really suiting their music. I shot a killer solo and finish for Brown Eyed Woman, the sphere is just a crazy fkn venue - live performance and energy but studio quality sound.

How about some good ol' Grateful Dead tonight?

31 years ago today my life would change forever. It was my first show. 6/13/93 from Buffalo. I already loved their music, but I finally got to experience them live. Yes, they weren’t the same as they had been but Jerry was still somewhat healthy and playing well. It changed my life forever.

This has been a fan fucking tastic show.  I was really in the mood for Lost Sailor>St of Circumstance and this one is so fucking good!!

Pro tip for the Sphere: prioritize central seating, and where you will have no overhang.

I sat in both the center side of 308 and the peripheral side of 309, and there's a distinct difference. I would recommend choosing seats between _04 and _08.

It's been a crazy week.  I was traveling for work but my son got really sick.  He had to be admitted to the hospital for a really bad throat infection.  They thought he might have an abscess that required surgical draining.  After putting a camera down his esophagus two days in a row, they ere unable to find anything and he responded well to antibiotics.  He is  home resting now and I can finally relax a little. I'm going to have a couple cocktails and listen to some Grateful Dead to take the edge off a little.

My all time favorite show.  Brent and Jerry are absolutely on fire the entire show.  Bertha, Cold Rain, and Snow, Masterpiece, Deal, Women are Smarter and the Watchtower>Morning Dew>Not Fade Away finish is epic!! The show also has a terrific Ship of Fools, Terrapin, and Stagger Lee!

Not a bad way to end July.  I'll be back on the road soon, so I am enjoying be able stay up a little later and listen to some shows.

I don't say things like this often, but Billy fucking murdered the Row Jimmy.  This has not been one of his better shows.  There have been a few times this show already that I've thought "wtf".

  • Author

I'm all about drinking, smoking, and listening to the Grateful Dead tonight!  I may have to hit the road over the next few weeks so I can't relax as much as when I'm home.  So I'm checking out this fine show tonight.

This has been a fantastic show. It's the perfect blend of crowd and music.  It's been a really fun night! The build up to Wharf Rat? Maybe the best Around and Around?? What a great show!!

Just getting into this early 80's gem.  A strange mix though, Jerry's guitar is barely audible at first....so far.

  • Author

Ok..they figured out Jerry's guitar!

What is better than a storm sitting on your house and listening to “Looks Like Rain”? Nothing!

I'm just past 1/2 through of 5 weeks on the road.  It's good to be home and listening to some Grateful Dead. I may do a lot of the same this weekend.

This has been a fantastic show!  The crowd recording is fine, but I would love to hear a soundboard recording of this.  This second set is just about perfect for a Friday night!!

  • Author

Already had some cocktails on the porch and checked out this show...solid but not spectacular.

Now I am on to this...Jack Straw openers always get my attention!

  • Author

Both of the show I posted had a very very solid Black Peter.  The 8/24/80 one is better though as is the entire show.  I love hearing the Hammond B3 during this song! It's perfect.

  • Author

This whole show is good and the recording is great, but the Black Peter is phenomenal .

I'm still just heartbroken about Ygifs.  I listened to He's Gone all night last night and just sat and drank in the rain.  He wouldn't want that, but I couldn't help it.  He would want me to queue up some Good Ol' Grateful Dead and enjoy my Monday night.
