The stained glass window from Season 2 still exists at a Stevedores family in Baltimore.

20 years ago today, #TheWire Season 3 Ep2: “All Due Respect” premiered on HBO (9/26/04)

one of my favorite scenes of the show.

It's like those old cartoons with the sheepdog and the wolf hitting the clock.

Bubs has moves.

Great video!

Have probably mentioned this before, but I got to spend an afternoon poolside with him and his family in LA many years ago. He’s so damn genuine… doesn’t surprise me that he can also dance his ass off.

Rewatching this with my girl...who's never seen it but loves crime shows, etc. I watched it myself the first time a couple years ago the whole thing in about a week. We're taking a slower path, but just got through S1.

Man, what a groundbreaking show. I'm not saying anything new here but I like to imagine what audiences in 2002 were thinking as this played out. Episode 11 with "WHERE WALLACE AT" and Avon getting cuffed in front of String who walked had to have them buzzing.

All the greatest season debates I think shortchange S1 because the first few episodes are kindof grindish and a ton of exposition. But the show hits its fucking stride about midseason and then its iconic moment after iconic moment. You can't turn it off. All the greatness of seasons 2 and 4 (my personal fave although gutwrenching) are made possible by what is set up in Season 1

Charlie Scalies was a true professional and a delight. Yes, we knew he was a Philly guy, but once he put on that safety vest, he was Horseface Pakusa and he might as well have rolled right out of a Rappolla Street rowhouse. Pure Bawlmerese. Thoughts are with his family; and memories, blessings.

Frequently watch episodes when I’m flying for work. I’ve seen them all a million times but it never gets old.

Interesting how out of all that talent only Michael B Jordan and Idris Elba became A listers.

Michael K Williams was on his way before ODing.

Sure I'm missing a couple.

McNulty's had a pretty solid career.  "The Crown" was pretty popular.  Also "The Affair". And I love him in that "Rogue Heroes" show.

Herc has been busy. Fuck Herc, though. On another rewatch and it’s catching me how much of a piece of shit he is the entire time.

Like McNulty, I wouldn't call Wendell Pierce an A-lister, but he's had a solid acting career since Bunk.  I thought he was great as James Greer in Jack Ryan.

Don't forget about Lieutenant Daniels! Had a solid career in the Bosch TV series and the John Wick movies.

Rewatching from S1E1 tonight, just instantly so damned good. Was laughing at the reality of being cast as Snot, who is only shown dead on the initial intro.  Ever.  Lol.

Baltimore's progressive mayor Brandon Scott took a public health approach to violence prevention, and the city is on track to have its smallest number of murders and shootings in 60 years. This is huge for Baltimore. https://t.co/fw1aBWg9b8

Started watching this week for my first watch. I'm on S1E8 so far and hooked.
Since this is your first watch, report back with what you think about season 2 once you get into it.

So rhe reboot is gonna suck?  The gangsters' kids are all accountants and factory workers, doing 40-60 hours/week at regular jobs, paying taxes, bbq's on the weekend.  Cops bored, sleeping in their cars.
