August 26, 20196 yr "Liverpool possibly deserved it". Damn, Ty. It was 3-1 and the 1 was after the game was finished.

August 27, 20196 yr Author We really need to get a Matip extension done over the international break. Dude is a top 10 cb in Europe these days.
August 28, 20196 yr We'll find out tomorrow morning but it would certainly be nice to skip both La Liga teams in Pot 2. Also, we drew MK Dons for the Caribou B Team squad spectacular. Liverpool's potential opponents in the 2019-20 Champions League group stage have now been confirmed. As reigning European Cup holders, the Reds are in Pot 1 for Thursday’s draw in Monaco along with Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester City, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Zenit St Petersburg. They will be placed in a section with one team from each of the other three pots, listed below. Jürgen Klopp’s men cannot face a fellow Premier League side at this stage of the competition, so will not be drawn with Tottenham Hotspur from Pot 2. The first round of group-stage matches will take place on September 17/18 and the phase will conclude on December 10/11. Pot 2 Real Madrid Atletico Madrid Borussia Dortmund Napoli Shakhtar Donetsk Ajax Benfica Pot 3 Lyon Bayer Leverkusen Salzburg Olympiacos Club Brugge Valencia Internazionale Dinamo Zagreb Pot 4 Lokomotiv Moscow Genk Galatasaray RB Leipzig Slavia Prague Red Star Belgrade Atalanta Lille
August 29, 20196 yr Author First step of defending the title takes place tomorrow. Bring on all comers.
August 29, 20196 yr Neymar shocked face makes it go to 11. And you'll never convince me that Mane didn't kick that ball into Sanches' arm on purpose.

Would be pretty fun to smash Real Madrid in the group stage. Hardest pot would probably be Dortmund, Lyon, Red Star Belgrade. Never a fun trip to Serbia.

August 29, 20196 yr Napoli again is just kind of boring. Group G is trash. City get a fucking gift when they shouldn't even be in the tournament.

August 29, 20196 yr 8 minutes ago, pied said: Not familiar with RB Salzburg or Gent, but have to like the travel. Just get out of the group. Salzburg is managed by Jesse Marsch, which is pretty cool. They, like all RB clubs, scout young, unproven talent extremely well. (They were the club that Sadio Mané played for when he burst onto the scene.) But they're still a club from Austria, so it should be a relative cakewalk. Salzburg is a gorgeous city though, so at least the traveling fans will have that going for them. Genk is basically the Belgian version of RB Salzburg. Tons of talent has emerged from their club (N'Didi, Leon Bailey, S M-S), but again, it should be an easy fixture. And yes, getting out of the group is the most important thing, and that should be a given with this group. But there's not an interesting game in the bunch, at least on paper. Napoli will be a nightmare for traveling fans not looking to get into a knife fight.
August 29, 20196 yr Congrats to Becker and VVD on the awardsGroup will be very blah....but the fun starts after the group stage
August 29, 20196 yr 12 minutes ago, C-Man said: How do you figure? probably the financial fair play violations that were swept under the rug. Quote An investigation into accusations that Premier League champion Manchester City misled European soccer’s financial regulators in pursuit of its success on the field is expected to recommend that the team be barred from the Champions League, European soccer’s richest competition and the trophy the club covets most. English soccer authorities and officials at UEFA, European soccer’s governing body and the organizer of the Champions League, have for months been investigating Manchester City amid allegations of rule-breaking revealed in damaging leaks over much of the past year. Members of the investigatory chamber of UEFA’s financial control board, a group set up to analyze the accounts of clubs suspected of breaking strict cost-control regulations, met two weeks ago in Nyon, Switzerland, to finalize their conclusions. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/13/sports/manchester-city-champions-league-uefa.html?action=click&module=RelatedLinks&pgtype=Article Edited August 29, 20196 yr by Jive Turkey

August 29, 20196 yr Author Our worst game of the season last year was away at Napoli. I anticipate us coming out firing in that game.
