  • In my Facebook memories today, a bit of interesting coincidence. Two years ago today, @Jive Turkey and I made the pilgrimage to Anfield to see LIverpool take on...West Ham. 4-1 that day. Hopefully 4-0

No wonder we found him playing with a spanish junior high team  Adrian is fucking terrible.

still 20+ minutes.  let's do this.

That dumb outlet kick broke Adrian.

Unfortunately Klopp had this year's January the month following the winter break

Adrian just fell apart in extra time. That's worse than what Karius did. Karius at least had the head injury to explain it away. Adrian just straight sucked.

The first 95 minutes were the best we’ve played since January. Spanish Karius hurt us.

Yeah. If we play that way in Madrid and against all the other comp since the winter break we're 7-0 instead of 3-4.

Yea we were actually really impressive until Adrian gifted them the game.

They had more than their fair share of chances in the first and second half, but Oblak had the game of his life.

Oblak is incredible. Top 5 in the world easily.

We also had our fair share of chances to score in the first and 2nd halves. Just couldn't convert.

Pretty standard goalkeeping performance from him. He’s been the best in the world over the last 5 years.

Bummed, seems silly to say all we have now is to close out the league.

Back at it again next year. Let’s wrap up the league ASAP.

We need to do this asap because I can see this spiraling fast now that players are being diagnosed

LFC is way down on the global concern list, but I just hope we are able to finish this out.

side note, props as always to Anfield.

Another thought. Clearly everyone will be disappointed. It looks like games are going to get delayed and/or played behind closed doors.

But they will get played and as the crisis is ending Liverpool will get the parade and the celebration will be out of this world for several reasons.  Until then...

YNWA

Fucking adrian.....

Oh well we still got the league and CL run had to end at somepoint after these last 2 years

But goddamn what a gut punch after svoring the "winning" goal

Oblak is incredible. Top 5 in the world easily.

MATS / Alisson / Oblak / The Rest

Anybody else getting a little concerned that the EPL is about to go on hiatus and what that might mean to Liverpool ending the title drought?

No. If it were a 10 point lead, it would be one thing. This is, barring Liverpool losing almost every remaining game while City won every remaining game, completly out of reach. Everyone knows Liverpool won it. If they call the season, they'll either put it on hold or they'll declare Liverpool the champions. Anything else is silly. But when you're dealing with things like relegation, which costs teams millions of pounds, they'll delay and delay until it doesn't make sense. Euro 2020 is done. Olympics are probably done. They can take their time.

Not really. Even if they never technically awarded a winner we all know who won the league this year.

Even still they will probably just award LFC the win if for some reason the season is cancelled rather than just postponed

Copy/paste from FB lol.

🎤The scousers thought they'd won it..the title looked a cert..wanking themselves silly..ending 30 years of hurt..By far they were the best team...its proven by the stats...Then China fucked the season...with AIDS from eating bats....Allez Allez Allez..!!!🎤

Liverpool just ran out of time?

I love this man.

I don’t think this is a moment where the thoughts of a football manager should be important, but I understand for our supporters they will want to hear from the team and I will front that.

First and foremost, all of us have to do whatever we can to protect one another. In society I mean. This should be the case all the time in life, but in this moment I think it matters more than ever.

I’ve said before that football always seems the most important of the least important things. Today, football and football matches really aren’t important at all.

Of course, we don’t want to play in front of an empty stadium and we don’t want games or competitions suspended, but if doing so helps one individual stay healthy - just one - we do it no questions asked.

If it’s a choice between football and the good of the wider society, it’s no contest. Really, it isn’t.

Today’s decision and announcement is being implemented with the motive of keeping people safe. Because of that we support it completely. We have seen members of teams we compete against become ill. This virus has shown that being involved in football offers no immunity. To our rival clubs and individuals who are affected and to those who later will become so, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

None of us know in this moment what the final outcome will be, but as a team we have to have belief that the authorities make decisions based on sound judgement and morality.

Yes, I am the manager of this team and club and therefore carry a leadership responsibility with regards to our future on the pitch. But I think in the present moment, with so many people around our city, the region, the country and the world facing anxiety and uncertainty, it would be entirely wrong to speak about anything other than advising people to follow expert advice and look after themselves and each other.

The message from the team to our supporters is only about your well-being. Put your health first. Don’t take any risk. Think about the vulnerable in our society and act where possible with compassion for them.

Please look after yourselves and look out for each other.

You’ll Never Walk Alone,
Jürgen
