Given how hellish it is here, I would have liked to have seen Montana.

Just got our first flurries of the season. Probably have to kick the heat on tonight.

I think Texas got its full 120 days of hell summer, it just started 6 weeks late.

Had a conversation with my mother this afternoon. She's in her 70s, and grew up on a ranch north of Llano. She said when she was growing up it was very rare to hit 100.

Think about that.

Welp, I'm heading out to Colorado Bend for some backpacking.  High of 94.  Sharing the tent with two dogs.  97% humidity in the morning.  Gonna be great.

Aaaaand we said fuck that.  Drove out and hiked in the afternoon but it was 98 at 5pm and I wasn't about to sleep in a tent with wet dogs in 90+ temps and 90+ humidity.  The AC at home was quite nice.

Yeah fuck that. Way too hot for camping

It’s way to hot for camping in a camper/rv.

10 day forecasted shifted to show higher temperatures for Houston. Not sure how they continue to get this wrong

I think they have to be basing the cool downs on historical numbers, but the condition's just aren't coming together.

Where do you smart kids find those longer range maps for precip and temps compared to normal?

American and European models are finally in agreement that a cold front will move through Texas at the beginning of nest week. They are not in alignment as to how strong the front will be, but temps range from daytime high of upper 70’s to lower 80’s and nighttime lows of upper 40’s to lower 60’s. At any rate, enjoy this last hot weekend.

Pretty sure those same models have predicted this for the last two weeks and neither happened.

I would not hold my breath on this one either.

Yeah, I'll believe it when it's actually 65 outside.  Until then, it will never cool off again.

Yep- noticed this morning the forecast revised higher for Houston. Was showing high 70s on Tuesday and then staying below 85 into the foreseeable future. Now showing 81 and then spiking back up to high 80s.

Assume will end up being high 80s on Tuesday for the “front” and back into 90s after that

Hello Darkness, my old friend.  Heat gonna stroke us out again.

NWS service has the forecast high of 82 on Tuesday for Central and SE Texas which means that bitching about 80 degree temps in November is only a month away.

I'll take it, but I think I've got used to this 95 stuff. 82 sounds cold.

I’m betting a high of 88 during this “cold front” and low of 68 before jumping back up

I feel so bad for some of you hunters who can't break out your more technical jackets for this, the onslaught of Autumn.  You are truly in the struggle.  And so brave for enduring these elements.

I blame Daylight Saving Time partially. If we'd get off that shit it wouldn't be so hot so late in the day.

j/k

My grass is so brown because it's settling into its October dormancy, right?

I walked out my front door this morning and my immediate words were, "this is bullshit".

Yep.  77 and 98% humidity here this morning.  Absolute ass-whipping on the daily dog walk.  Saw a facebook meme that said "It's a beautiful July 94th this morning"

I really like walking out of the gym in the morning, and my sunglasses immediately fog up and I start sweating worse than I was on the treadmill. Then I go home and shower and it takes half an hour to feel dry afterwards.

Yeah, the motto of this summer should be the George Costanza line after he's asked if he showered, "Yeah...but it didn't take."

I believe you, there's a giant pink blob on the GFS Temperature map over just about everything east of the Mississippi River. Pink indicates temperatures around 15 degrees above normal.

It’s fucking hot and gross outside.

At least you're getting decent overnight temps.  We've been walking out in the morning to damn near 80 with 95% humidity for months straight.

Dark Sky is claiming a low of 54 next Wednesday.  Once again, I know it's going to fail me.

Forecast in Atlanta on Accuweather this week literally said “blazing sunshine” at one point. It’s gone now, I should have screen grabbed it.

Oh wait here it is:

Armuchee is northwest Georgia, where I’m going camping this weekend. Should be awesome in a tent.

Unless you are sleeping in the daytime you should be fine.  Your overnight lows look pretty good.

Hey, it was only 70 this morning. Actually felt kinda nice on the walk.  I can taste the low 60’s right around the end of the year.

Some of the models are now showing a > 50% chance of a significantly stronger, 2nd front passing through next weekend following this first, relatively weak front on Monday.

Yeh good news is that it looks like the good weather will continue, the bad news is that the Monday front is looking weaker and weaker. And if we’ve learned anything it’s that the further out a forecast, the better odds that it’s hotter than projected
