Lol -- Nunes accusing the Dems of extortion and bribery.

Not attacking the testimony of the dozen+ witnesses, instead attacking the Dems.

Good thing Nunes isn't a lawyer, he'd get his clients sent to prison.

Based on his academic background, he would have been an aggy had he been born in Texas.

What a time to be alive.  An elected representative of the United States is peddling pure conspiracy theories in a public forum and not getting any push back.

nunes cannot help but to be a condescending fuck. jesus. i try not to hate, but i actively hate this fucking guy.

That's correct, Mr. Nunes, I still have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.

Look, I've spent the majority of my life in central Texas. I can't hear to word chalupa too much more without getting up and going to Taco Cabana.

But Obama said "wait 'til after the election!" It's the same thing!

is it correct that you don't have any clue about things completely unrelated to your testimony and the matter at hand?

that is correct.

WINNING!!!

Holy fuck, man, keep still.

haha, schiff interrupting - nunes about to grandstand. lulz. the circus is in town!

GOP counsel is squinty.

The Ukranians weren't loyal Trumpkins. That makes them corrupt. And probably supporters of Obama, Hillary, and Obama.

i mean, honestly, the question was "do you think trump thought that he ukrainians were out to get him?"

Are the Republicans really this fucking stupid?

Edit: I was a Republican for a decent chunk of my adult life, and I don't remember this much stupidity.

i mean, is the fulcrum of their strategy in this hearing is to ask opinion questions regarding trump's personal hurt feelings?

The skillset gap between in the two counsels is striking.

so the Dems brought in a composed made for TV counsel and the GOP brought a crack head.

And there's a key point, non of what was taken place as directed by Trump was done through legitimate channels. Trump had Rudy running the show with Fraud Guarantee to beat the drum for investigations.

Holy shit, Castor asking him to believe shit about Manafort that had nothing to do with Taylor.

so the Dems brought in a composed made for TV counsel and the GOP brought a crack head.

Did the GOP counsel just say it was the job of the Justice Dept. to investigate corruption in Ukraine?

If this was a court of law, I'd agree it's a mismatch.  But the guy obviously has experience in trying to whittle out a soundbite.  How good he is at it, I don't know.

Yeah.  But the major advantage the House Dems are holding right now is  pointed questioning from their trial lawyer.  A gifted trial lawyer for the Reps could likely make these witnesses look somewhat foolish on some ground or another.  Bias or something.

Sound bites are low-hanging fruit.  Surprisingly effective low-hanging fruit in the twitter era.

This is why I tend to dislike congressional hearings.  And why I hate twitter.

Taylor is doing his best to not say "please ask something coherent."

it's actually incredible. his starting nearly every answer with "mr castor" is a clear tell to him trying to organize his thoughts beyond "what the actual fuck?"

also, lulz at the "why were you not on the call?" "because that's not our policy, dumbass?"

I don't think Castor gives a fuck what Taylor answers, he's just rolling through his script.

Doing big crimes and not serving a day in jail isn't stupid.

And now Kent is having to educate Castor on how the NSC, etc. work.

Who cares if someone in the Ukraine government didn't like Trump

IANAL, but it seems like Castor should have been better prepared about the duties/responsibilities of the people he is questioning.

haha, that stood out to me as well.

the ambassador is erudite and precise with his language. the republican counsel is flailing.

I think Castor may be drunk... and I don’t blame him.

that's why you'd never make it as a lawyer.  you think you are supposed to prepare?

you would think. he's asking questions to which he does not know the answers. he's hamstringing himself. it's kind of amazing.

Are we establishing that self-dealing and self-enriching on the part of high level government officials is corrupt and bad?
