I don't know how any lawyer could ask successful questions here though, given all the lying trump and the gop have done.  What are the options,  Lie about facts?  Character assassination of these public servants appointed by Republicans?

And I can't see many good trial attorneys agreeing to questioning on behalf of the likes of Nunes.

Sleepy Steve is trying to filibuster himself

so, the republican strategy is to try and highlight the act of a politician self-dealing? seriously?

i'm honestly stumped as to the motivation behind this line of questioning from castor.

it was obvious that the democratic counsel had a destination and a set of waypoints to get there.

this line of questioning is kind of all over the place.

Bow tie and pocket square game is strong with Mr. Kent.

Goldman: Asks a question, gets an answer, takes into account the previous answer when asking his next question.

Castor: Asks a question, gets an answer, moves onto next question regardless of previous answer.

Trying to defend the indefensible.

Taylor was the star of the first half, but I'm really digging Kent's "I can't believe I have to answer questions about this bullshit" attitude right now.

What's your take on this as a whole? @TwiceHorn

Is Castor just running through a script loosely framed as questions?

Yes.

Steve lights up when he gets to talk about Hunter Biden.

haha this is incredible.

"yeah, we don't know anything about hunter biden."

What a dipshit.   Is this really all I need to do to be a successful lawyer?

Edited by Horn Dog

Taylor: I have no knowledge about this

Castor: Hunter is getting $50,000 a month, don't you think that's fishy?

Taylor: I have no knowledge about this

Castor: Don't you think Donald Trump is the bestest President ever?

For fucks sake, they're jUsT aSkInG qUeStIoNs. Not making any point, just saying "doesn't that look weird?" without showing anything concrete - COMPLETELY IGNORING the entire reason the committee was called.

I wonder if Schiff is going to call multiple rounds of counsel questioning just to pants the GOP and show their talking points are unsubstantiated

You don't want to ask a question that you don't know the answer to because on cross, the lawyer is really supplying the answers and the witness is agreeing to them, while seeming to actually give the answers  Or that's how it's supposed to work.  The cross-examination of Amber Guyger was masterful this way.

The other thing is, no good witness examination ever comes from a script.  EVER.  A keyword outline, maybe, but never a script.

You guys are being too hard on this guy. What the fuck is he supposed to ask?

Trump and the criminal organization formerly known as the Republican party’s only play here is to lie in the media to the base of morons. Not much this guy can do for that effort here.

Yes!

I’m all for some corrupt Democrats going down if it brings down Trump.

All politicians should face random background checks and investigations.

this attorney going full on Zoolander blue steel at the end of every question.

No, I did not have any interaction with Giuliani as he was engaged in his back-channel dealings.

his continual "mm hm" clearly demonstrates he is not listening - just queuing up the next question

This!

Counsel Castor should request the subpoened notes that Ambassador Taylor sent to Pompeo and the State Dept.

i want to listen, to be informed, but this fucking "attorney" is a joke.

can you repeat the question

lawyer: gives new question, basically a statement in support of trump without any real question

Castor has that odd, Nixon-esque head shake and tempo when he asks questions.

Yeah, he's trying to create a narrative based solely on his questions. Keep asking questions about Hunter Biden so you create the impression that he was somehow corrupt, even when you don't get the answers you want and can't produce any evidence to support corruption charges.

I mean you'd think he would at least try to establish that he was a "never Trumper," or somehow biased against teh donald.

Ask him if he thinks the president is a moron?  You know he does, pin him down.
