May 9, 20187 yr Author Shit I don't want to hear ... The general thought is that Poche might actually be swayed by a big name club this off season. Spurs might be preparing. Not this shit today... Edited May 9, 20187 yr by Captain Ron

May 9, 20187 yr Author They just showed the Chelsea score in Wembly. They know it now - win and they are in.
May 9, 20187 yr Author Just enough and I will take it. This team has broken down the last few weeks. One last game at Wembly, hope they give it a good send off. Edited May 9, 20187 yr by Captain Ron
May 9, 20187 yr COYS!!! glad to have champions league football to ring in the new stadium. IF the poch rumors are true, it could also explain some of the team's performance over the last month. Edited May 9, 20187 yr by mr. littlejeans it's my prerogative

May 10, 20187 yr Author It's time to start talking about seeding now. With the Champions League spot wrapped up, now comes the time to figure out which Pot Spurs are going to end up in for the Group Stage draw. Quick refresher: Pot 1 - Defending UCL Champ and the Champions of the top 7 Leagues (Spain, England, Italy, Germany, France, Russia, and Portugal) Pots 2-4 - The remaining 24 teams ranked by UEFA coefficient So currently Tottenham sits at 19th place. But despite this, it looks pretty good:1 Real Madrid 2 Atlético Madrid3 Bayern München4 FC Barcelona5 Juventus6 Sevilla7 Paris Saint-Germain8 Manchester City9 Arsenal10 Borussia Dortmund11 FC Porto12 Manchester United12 Chelsea14 Shakhtar Donetsk15 Benfica16 Zenit St. Petersburg16 Napoli18 FC Basel 19 Tottenham Hotspur Here is a rough keyItalics - Team is in the UCLBold-Italics - Team is Champion of their LeagueStrikethrough - Team can't qualify for UCLUnderline - Team is at risk of missing the UCL More than likely Dortmund and Benfica will make the UCL putting 8 teams ahead of Spurs in Pot 2. The key will be the UCL Final, if Liverpool wins they push Madrid into Pot 2, but if Madrid wins, that will put only 7 potential teams ahead of Spurs. Another key is that Benfica (if they make it) and Basel would need to play into the Group Stage via earlier qualification playoffs, there is not guarantee they even make the Group stage. May 10, 20187 yr Author We haven't talked next year's jersey's yet, but they have leaked The home jersey is here: This is the away jersey: The 3rd jersey hasn't been released, but the color scheme has: Nike is doing something interesting w/ 3rd jerseys this year with some sort of city theme being used. Barcelona and Galatasaray both have some early designs out, take a look at those to get an idea of what they are doing. It will give you an idea of what they might do for Spurs. It could be a city theme or with a new stadium it might be something else.
May 11, 20187 yr Author Might be lost in this whole discussion, but Spurs are the top London team this season. 2 years ago they lost 2nd place to Arsenal on the last day. Last year Chelsea won the title while Spurs finish 2nd. It's been a building process. Hope they can keep it up next year and continue to get better and do more. Edited May 11, 20187 yr by Captain Ron

Saw these quotes recently from a press conference or interview, not sure which. Quote “[But] we never celebrate. We never celebrate. At Southampton we avoid relegation and then we finish eighth in the table and we had an unbelievable party in one year and a half.” "But yes it is true, we sometimes have that feeling at Tottenham that it is never enough. Sometimes we miss that things…we don’t have player awards. Clubs like Crystal Palace or different clubs like Southampton; always it was a massive party at the end of the season." “But it is a little bit strange that [for us] always the feeling is not great. I remember in my first season at Spurs we finished fifth and I think always it was fighting, fighting, fighting. Fifth, Europa League, we finished better than the previous season when the team finished sixth. Fifth is okay, but it is not enough. “Then the second season we finished third because we lost the possibility to win the league against Chelsea with the draw, and then we lost against Southampton and Newcastle 5-1. "The feeling was so bad. Last season, we finished second but not enough because we don’t win the Premier League. “This season, again, despite playing at Wembley and many things from the beginning, still some say: ‘Oh yes, but no, but the team needs to win some titles…’ Yes, after four years we have never celebrated. I am going to celebrate with my people though." Quote

Quick refresher: Pot 1 - Defending UCL Champ and the Champions of the top 7 Leagues (Spain, England, Italy, Germany, France, Russia, and Portugal) Pots 2-4 - The remaining 24 teams ranked by UEFA coefficient Well shit. It turns out that Pot 1 isn't what I said here. For next year's tournament its: Pot 1 - Defending UCL Champ and Europa Champ and the Champions of the top 6 Leagues (Spain, England, Italy, Germany, France, and Russia) It kind of changes things, but not really. 1 Real Madrid* 2 Atlético Madrid* 3 Bayern Munich 4 FC Barcelona 5 Juventus* 6 Sevilla 7 Paris Saint-Germain 8 Manchester City 9 Arsenal 10 Borussia Dortmund 11 FC Porto 12 Manchester United 12 Chelsea 14 Shakhtar Donetsk* 15 Benfica 16 Zenit St. Petersburg 16 Napoli 18 FC Basel 19 Tottenham Hotspur ... 63 Lokomotiv Moscow Here is the keyBold - Team has qualified for the UCL Group Stage (* teams can qualify for pot 1)Bold-Italics - Team has qualified for Pot 1Italics - Team has qualified for a UCL, but not yet the Group Stage (* team can qualify directly for the group stage)Strikethrough - Team can't qualify for UCLUnderline - Team is at risk of missing the UCL So the impact is kind of minimal, because ideally Athletico wins the Europa League and you swap Porto and Athletico in Pots 1 and 2. So some quick notes: As of right now Spurs sit 12th of teams that have qualified for the Champions League, with 5 of the teams ahead of them winning their leagues. That means they would be in the 7th spot of 8 for Pot 2. However, things can improve or hurt Spurs depending on teams qualifying. Pot 1 - For the league title holders, this is almost set: Bayern, Barcelona, Man City, PSG and Lokomotiv. Juve probably will win Serie A (but even if they don't Napoli would and they are also ahead of Spurs). That's 5 teams ahead of Spurs that are going to Pot 1. Real Madrid and Athletico can get into pot 1 winning the Champions and Europa Leagues respectively. This would help Spurs as it would take 2 teams out of the mix for pot 2 (if both win, then Spurs are guaranteed to be in Pot 2). If they don't make it, that hurts them. Chelsea - if Chelsea qualify, they would be in Pot 2. Spurs want them to fail to qualify. Shakhtar Donetsk - they are winning the Ukrainian PL, but Dynamo Kiev can catch them. First place makes the Group Stage, 2nd place enters the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League (2 rounds to make the group stage). Benfica - they are tied on points with Sporting for 2nd place in the Portuguese Primeira Liga. 2nd place makes the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League. Basel - they are in 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League (3 rounds to the Group Stage). The TL;DR version: There are 15 teams ahead of Spurs that are potentially alive for the UCL. 5 teams are in Pot 1, of the remaining 10, 3 of those teams have to miss pot 2 (either by making pot 1 or missing the UCL group stage).

May 13, 20187 yr Author Great win, great way to send out the season. And Spurs lock up 3rd place. A damn fine end. The Pot 2 chase, I have distilled it down to this: Teams that have made Pot 2: 1 Juventus/Napoli 2 Borussia Dortmund 3 FC Porto 4 Manchester United Teams that can still end up in Pot 2 (2 of the 5 need to miss for Spurs to make Pot 2): 1 Real Madrid (UCL Final for Pot 1) 2 Atlético Madrid (Europa Final for Pot 1) 3 Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine Premier League or 3rd qualifying round) 4 Benfica (Portuguese Premeira Liga and 3rd qualifying round) 5 FC Basel (2nd qualifying round) Edited May 13, 20187 yr by Captain Ron
May 13, 20187 yr Author Shakhtar Donetsk just won the UPL, putting them into the Group Stage and Pot 2 Teams that have made Pot 2: 1 Juventus/Napoli 2 Borussia Dortmund 3 FC Porto 4 Manchester United 5 Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine Premier League or 3rd qualifying round) Teams that can still end up in Pot 2 (2 of the 4 need to miss for Spurs to make Pot 2): 1 Real Madrid (UCL Final for Pot 1) 2 Atlético Madrid (Europa Final for Pot 1) 3 Benfica (Portuguese Premeira Liga and 3rd qualifying round) 4 FC Basel (2nd qualifying round)
