Quick side-note to Tech's win today...this W gives Tech now more CWS wins than aggy has.  Just a little icing on the cake.

Tech vs Mich on Saturday along with Florida St vs Arky.

Definitely not pulling for Arky.  Mich has to be huge underdog, but they did beat UCLA in their house.  Gonna be some good games this weekend, along with The US Open.  Missing the Horns.

Neat story:

Familiar face: Mississippi State’s Chris Lemonis and Louisville’s McDonnell are best friends, having played together in the CWS for the Citadel in 1990 before going into coaching. Lemonis was an assistant to McDonnell at Louisville in 2007-14, and now their teams are in the same bracket.

“He’s the godparent of my kid and everything else,” Lemonis said. “We have a huge Citadel group coming, so you can imagine all our teammates and everything will be a part of it, and it’s a neat thing.”

Team Florida St. Want Martin to get his title.
I'm with you on that, guy has had some unbelievable teams and some unbelievable dismissals from the tourney. Hes beyond due, he's so old, hes part of the generation of coaches that made college baseball what it is today. Gus, Augie, Stevens, Morris, Skip, Dedeaux, Martin, etc

Be fun to see his team get him one

I would like to see Martin take home the trophy as well, but his reward may just have  been getting to the CWS.  We shall see.

Blue scores first.... 1-0

Single, pass ball, groundout to 2B, and Sacfly

Tech has an issue at catcher. (soph from Lubbock Monterey)

PB set up Michigan's first run (same issue vs OKSt).     ESPN stat only 16% of opponent's runners thrown out (92/116),

Big triple for Michigan.  Up 3-0.

... and if Jung hadn’t fumble fucked a pickoff at 2B for what would have been the third out, Michigan would not have scored the 3 runs.

If Buckner doesn’t let the ball go between his legs then Boston wins.

This is somewhat unlike Tech to be this ragged.  Tad knows better than to lose the first game.

When did it become cool to put on eyeblack like a douchebag?

4-2 Mich. 2 run homer for Tech.  New pitcher for Tech (Queen), going to top 4.

Announcers have been fine...

However

Dude just said Michigan's Kaufman was very efficient last inning, needing only 5 pitches to get 4 outs.

Impressive...

Well, he knows how this ends if you don't play well.  Being a returning team, they should have a little advantage, but not playing like it so far.

C'mon Whammer!!!

fulford's foot is not in the batter's box.

Michigan hitter fell towards the plate.

Fuck you announcers.

tough fucking play.  Warren has been so good with his hands.

That one sucked.

strength against strength.

Well done, meatchicken

Mich with their big dog reliever in....chunking heat with a little slider.  Tech in trouble.  Now down 5-3 B 8..,1 out, one on.

not a fan of that horseshit.

hate the late call timeout for the hitter

C'mon Drew...

If pitcher is being bitchy, then fuck him too.

great pitch

Tech needs to get ready to send "Eleven" home two and Q on Monday.

Given how experienced Tech is in Omaha in recent years, I gave them an advantage on that score, but Michigan has just been great this post season.

You just knew he was getting a hit after the ump blew that call.
