June 17, 20196 yr Stumbled upon this brief interview with Noble Doss and Roosevelt Leaks, who both played for the Longhorns in the 1940s. Thought it was an interesting slice of history. Doss discusses his 'immortal catch' against Texas A&M in 1940, as well as his dropped touchdown pass against Baylor the following year that cost Texas the national championship.
June 17, 20196 yr Uh Roosevelt Leaks came to my elementary school class - in the 1970’s, as a player.
June 17, 20196 yr Hats off to the OP. Apparently he sees people for what they truly are, judged on their character & actions. He clearly doesn’t see age, race, or even names.

June 17, 20196 yr So you are telling me that Rooster did not gain 342 yards against SMU and that Roosevelt did not kick an extra point when he was a waterboy? Glad to have that clarified. Edited June 17, 20196 yr by lemonandaturd
June 17, 20196 yr Author Welp. I'd like to say I know why I typed 'Roosevelt Leaks' instead of 'Rooster Andrews'... but I don't. Brain glitch.
June 17, 20196 yr I distinctly remember buying some longhorn gear at Roosevelt Leak’s sporting goods store.
