Sullivan RBI after a Burke double. 1-0 Texas

That girl is probably the fattest person I have ever seen on a ball field.  But she did hit the shot out of that ball.

Cal had a bigger girl that we faced in the wcws with osterman.

was she that Samoan that ended up playing on the national team?

I can think of some big girls who’ve played at Georgia and A&M. Real lard asses that just slammed the ball out

Texas is 16-2 with two 1-run losses. That’s damn good.  Out to Cali we go!

On the other hand, don't like the trend of struggling to score against decent teams. Hope that improves.

Good to read, looking forward to the replay tonight.

14 combined hits in the 2 games. We just need to hit them in. Hopefully by conference play, the lineup is set.

Burke needs to be in the lineup every day

I think it's because of how hot she is and pretty much married, I don't expect her to do well but she is solid. Gives us very good at bats.

Also, what's the story on this ULaLa coaching staff? They obviously can recruit, clean or are they known softball sleazeballs? Did they inherit a good program or build it?

He inherited a solid program from Lotief - ULL as a program hasn't won less than 50 games since 1991.  They made the WCWS 3 times as an independent in the 90s.  ULL's reputation is spectacular.  They haven't missed a postseason since 1998 and only 3 times in program history as an NCAA program.

Glasco has been around the block.  He has a solid reputation, especially as an offensive coach.

7 seasons in the travel ball circuit (Illinois Southern Force 18U)
6 seasons at Georgia
3 separate stints in the NPF (USSSA Pride and Scrap Yard Dawgs)
3 seasons at A&M

Glasco was seen as the heir apparent at both Georgia and A&M if Lu Harris Champer and Jo Evans retired.  Both are hanging on and refuse to go, so Glasco took his shot at ULL.  The dude has been around softball, especially in the South and Texas, so recruiting should be easy for him.  I'd go as far as to say the Texas pecking order is Texas/OU, ULL, A&M with Glasco's connections.

His daughter (RIP) also played for Mike White at Oregon (after transferring from Georgia).

Anywho, if we see ULL again, it would be in the Supers or WCWS so moving on.

We travel today to California - UCLA Thursday 8pm CT - Pac 12 Network

UCLA is #1 for a reason

.401 average
22 HR , .657 slugging
.477 OBP
.967 fielding
28-30 stolen bases

1.19 team ERA
.191 team BAA
14 XBH allowed - 7 HR
10 walks issued to 126 strikeouts

Megan Faraimo is looking like Rachel Garcia 2.0 (who pulled an Osterman and redshirted 2020 for Tokyo) - 57.2 IP, 6 ER, 94 K to 4 BB ratio, 0.73 ERA

They've done this against a  tougher schedule too - Alabama, Georgia, FSU, A&M, Wisconsin, Florida, Auburn.  The combined score in those games against ranked and P5 teams - 46-12

This is a doozy of a matchup!

Was able to attend both games and watched the  replay this morning.

Just want to add that Shea was magnificent,  really focused and attacking the hitters. no walks, always ahead in the count.    imo,  considering the opponent and importance of avoiding a sweep against a top team,  one of the best games of her career.

MW did relieve her in favor of Elish for the final out against Roman,  another ULL power hitter.   Couldn't take the chance of her leaving that changeup over the plate like she did to Bailey Curry in the 4th inning.    😊

I think y'all might be getting a little ahead of yourselves on Day's current pitching ability.  We'll learn a lot more about just how good Day is in the Circle when Texas plays much better opponents soon.

I still believe Shealyn will be our #2 pitcher in B12 play, and will round into much better form soon. 🤘

Nice job by Shealyn!!

"Game 2 – Sophomore Shea O'Leary (4-0) picked up the victory by permitting one earned run on four hits with no walks and three strikeouts over 6.2 innings. Elish earned her first save of the season by getting the last out of the contest with the tying run on first."

This and the Tennessee game last year were her 2 best games.  She pitched admirably against Alabama in that SR, but man was she in a tough spot.

Aggy softball, feel the excitement! (lol, they lost to Sam).  That poor fan.

Why would you not put general admission seating behind home plate, where the cameras are always looking?

Yea.  No replays, only 2 cameras., behind home plate and center field, no close ups.  But, at least we can see the game.

Am I missing something, why did our OFs not warmup before this half inning?
