Embedded Twitter posts severely degrade user experience on mobile. Solutions: turn off embedding Twitter; improve whatever JavaScript or whatever is doing the embedding behind the scenes; lock threads that become greater than ten percent Twitter posts or force new page for a thread after any page has greater than five Twitter posts; or my preference -- ban users whose post count is greater than ten percent no comment Twitter posts. Everyone in the internet knows Twitter exists and how to follow accounts if they wanted to see every insane thought some ESPN personality tweets out.

like derka, twitter insists on itself.

Fuck no OP. I love twitter posts on here, and it has not hindered my mobile viewing experience at all. Methinks you're just an old man yelling at cloud.

For breaking news it's the shit. Rando ESPN BS I don't care about. But, if there's a shooting, a bomb, or an election what do you want me to do post four dots, 1234, or do I have to come up with some lame ass small talk every time?

Disabled by choice is fine. But, I'll probably keep posting from Twitterville. Sometimes all I have are a few moments to post it and jump back in the fire.

I'm just saying we don't need this place to be a Twitter aggregator. When a thread is six posts in a row of Twitter quotes all I see is great rectangles for ten seconds.

That's any picture or video heavy thread. All the music ones are like that. I appreciate that it causes a massive lag sometimes. I'm in favor of an individual being able to disable a post whether to block/ignore another poster, stop autoplay, or in this case delete Twitter. That's cool. I understand. Just don't eliminate it for everyone. I can wait for the page to load.

It's very healthy that you're just sitting around thinking about Derka.

Just put kopp0e on ignore and that problem is basically solved.

It's actually machinator in the NBA threads who is the biggest offender.

What's the current status of these embeds? I had one removed a week ago for an unknown reason (to me) but I see tons of them elsewhere every time I've gotten on since. Are they being removed ad hoc when someone specifically complains about it?

I'll look into an option to disable twitter embeds by choice.

Yes, please.

Some message boards have a policy that you can post a link to an external site (or tweet), but you also have to type something, and I’m not talking about 1234loko. I mean an actual sentence. Surly administrator should consider that.

OP needs to upgrade his flip phone.
