Men's draw

Novak appears to have a pretty cake path, Roger & Rafa get to battle in the bottom.

Women's draw

7 Slam champs in the top quarter, pretty fucking crazy out of 32 names. Big chance for a first time winner like Karolina or Bertens to just survive & advance while everyone else does the dirty work.

A few of those slam winners in the top quarter are non-factors like Stosur, Sharapova, and Kutznetsova but it’s still the toughest quarter.

Bold predictions is #2 Osaka loses 2nd round to Iga Swiatek (sp)

Will be there Friday (weather permitting) anyone waited in the Queue before?
I have. Like waiting for Franklin .

First minor upset on the ladies’ side, but in gambling #s only. #10 Sabalenka bounced in straights by the grass court master Rybarikova.

Swiatek out in straights to Golubic.

4-all in the first between Naomi & Putintseva on Centre now.

Yulia takes the first in a breaker.

And Miss Madison Brengle sent FO finalist Vondrousova home in straights.

Yulia knocks out Naomi in straights. The size difference at net for the handshake was funny.

Wow lots of upsets this tournament already on the women’s side but kinda predictable. Osaka should be a much better grass court player than she is

#6 Zverev & #7 Tsitsipas also headed to the bar.

Venus/Gauff underway now.

Osaka played unbelievably badly. She didn't have any idea how to handle the gentle backhand slices from Yulia, just dumped them into the net everytime.

She’s back to playing like a worse version of Madison Keys

couldn't watch the 5th set, but i thought tsitsipas was going to pull it out after coming back from down match point to win the 4th.

Gauff up a break in the second! If Venus loses to a girl nearly a quarter century younger than her she has to contemplate retirement

I was thinking pretty much the same thing.

Naomi looks like Serena across from her.

Yulia looks like she’s from MIDDLE EARTH.

She might even look UP to Dr. Ruth.

Maria was up a set & 5-2, blew that in a breaker, now getting her left wrist taped up.

Retires down 0-5, just fucking underhand 4 serves & let your opponent win the match on court.

How do the men consistently go deep in virtually every major and many of the elite women struggle and/or get beat early? So disappointed in Osaka. Doesn't make any sense.

Well, the top 3 men are the best ever, so that helps.

Outside of Serena in years past, none of the other women are dominant, & the parity is real. The mental game also buries plenty of the ladies.

THe top three are also old as shit. It's pathetic that young male tennis players haven't been hungry enough to try and knock them off their pedestals. Kyrgios I'm looking at you.

^ Did you see his scoreline today?

7-6(4), 3-6, 7-6(10), 0-6, 6-1

Were you watching in the early 2010s? Back then it was even worse. The last year or so has seen a few ladies emerge as relatively consistent winners, which is a big improvement from those days.

But no one is as consistent as the Fed/Nadal/Djokovic trio.

Wawrinka was standing so far back to return Reilly Opelka's serve, he ran into a lineswoman 😂

(And he lost in five sets anyway)

Querrey bageled #5 Thiem in the 4th to send him home.

That was odd.   Was Thiem hurt?

2 of the US womens seeds fell today (Kenin, Keys), but the 15 year old phenom Gauff moves on to the 3rd round

My girl Danielle beat #12 Sevastova too.

Always interesting to put a face with a name you've seen in print for a while.

Kyrgios with the ripper to get the early break in the 2nd and saved a couple break points to hold up 3-0 in 2nd. Got a match now

Full range of the Kyrgios experience on display already in this match.  I’m hoping he can stay focused enough to avoid the meltdown, because it’s shaping up to be a great one.  Couple of moments where it looked like he was teetering on the edge of a freakout, but he’s keeping it under control enough so far.
