Seriously, how did this idea make it past even one Nike focus group?

Hey, when you're running the Rubber Clown Shoe Empire where everything over $2 is profit, you can afford to whiff one every now and then.

I sincerely don’t give a duck fuck about anything hysterical conservative justice victims cry about.

They’ve cried “UNAMERICAN WOLF” way too many times all while sucking the dick of a president who sucks the assholes of dictators.

Fuck yo feelings. I hope Kap continues to make y’all weep in your Metamucil.

Doug Ducey damaging state commerce to own the libs. I bet 80% of Arizona has no idea about the Betsy Ross myth. The most powerful country on the planet is being run by children.

That governor knows his voting base better than we do, but it’s shocking to learn that this would be a politically savvy position to take of ANY group.

And now that I’ve said that, it occurs to me he might actually be a true believer. And that’s even more embarrassing.

There is no end to the fucking stupidity of the GOP. "Fuck tax revenue and those 500 jobs.....there's an opportunity to show my ass on Twitter. Time to Lead!"

When the fuck did Koepernick become CEO of Nike?  Here's an idea.  Let the market decide.  If you like the shoe you can buy the shoe.  If you don't like the shoe you don't have to buy the shoe.  Instead you've let one whiny ass make a decision that every person in the country should have the ability to make and you have managed to take a shit on the American flag at the same time.

Triggering the right wing snowflakes was the smartest thing Colin Kaepernick has ever done.

actually, nike made the decision.

why do you think that a massively successful company decided to make this decision.

do you think it was because of what kaepernick said?

hint: it was. why do you think that is?

hint #2: it's not personal, it's business. nike makes more money because of kaepernick than he does out of texashammer and emawsome.

the fucking market HAS decided. that's why nike's ad campaign with kaepernick has been a success.

it's like yall don't even think sometimes. nike stock today, even with as light slide on this ridiculous news about an ugly shoe nobody would have bought anyway, is not materially priced lower than it was when nike first signed kaepernick.

the fucking market HAS decided.

How can the market decide when the company, due entirely to the opinion of one person connected to the company, decides to pull the shoe before it ever gets presented to the market?

hahahaha, jesus, dude. how exactly do you think markets work?

the nike brand is about more than this one pair of shoes.

By how it responded to Colin Kaepernick in the past. They made the decision that going against him on this would hurt the bottom line. So they pulled the shoe.

Seems like a lucrative time to hire some undocumented workers to manufacture some flag shoes.

Quote

§8. Respect for flag

No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.

  • The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
  • The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.
  • The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free.
  • The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker's desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.
  • The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way.
  • The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling.
  • The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.
  • The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.
  • The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.
  • No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart.
  • The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.

How to market yourself: whatever Nike, billion dollar company does.

How not to market yourself: make your username "swam4texas" so that everyone thinks you're a super cool dude. Then act like such a childish fool that you switch to a different name on the new board for a fresh start because your old brand was ruined. Of course you have to let everyone once again know you're a super cool dude, so let's get an "Awesome" in that name! Woot! Then proceed to ruin your new brand because once again you show a childlike grasp of issues combined with thinking that you're smarter than everyone.

New Balance sucks donkey cock. Adidas has good stuff but all the eurotrash wear it. I've never bought Under Armour. I lean towards the higher end stuff, Salomon etc. I guess. Basically I started trail running a number of years ago and if buy trail shoes, the main brands are all shit anyway.

The idea that Nike will benefit from this is based in the singular event that when they hired Kap last time, they allegedly benefited. I'm skeptical that trend will continue.

Interesting move Doug.  Let's see how this plays out when Nike sponsors a sport that pulls it's championship/event from your state.  I wonder who will be hurt worse?  I'm not a fan of Kaep's move here but Ducey's move is even dumber.

Yeah, Nike is not bass pro shops.  These type of moves will be a net positive for them in the long run.  They spend millions on that type of research.  The design of that shoe was atrocious, that should worry stockholders a lot more than them losing overall revenue with these moves.

Didn't Kaepernick play for San Francisco at one point?

You're not wrong. That said, sports fans is not synonymous with social justice warrior. I think Nike gets most of their revenue from the suburbs, not from cough "urban" cough markets. Nor do I think the "urban" markets are offended by Betsy Ross flags. It's the mid-summer silly season, the outrage industrial complex is cranked up to 11. But if Nike really goes full bore SJW over the long term, I suspect it damages their brand. Like MJ said, Republicans buy shoes too.

Nike is HQ'd out of Oregon, which is politically like California on steroids. I expect Nike will double down on all this SJW stuff. We'll see what happens.

I walked out in front of my house and said "I like Betsy Ross" in a very calm time of voice. The next thing I know Phil Knight show up with a bunch of gas cans and burns my house to the ground and now I have no place to live.

I'm sure the contract between CK and Nike provided that CK has final approval over the shoe design that would bear his name.  Why do you hate capitalism and the right to contract?  You fucking socialist.
