White ppl and the names they come up with smh

I am interested to see how he progresses over the next few years. Certainly will gain the requisite mass and strength, and appears to have nice receiving skills, as well as being a willing blocker. Very nice pickup for the class.

this is a huge blow to Baker's attempt of establishing a pipeline from LT to Norman!!

The only pipelines to Norman are moving meth and dicks by the bag.

Well Herman did say he wants athletic, multi-sport guys.  McRee meets that description in spades.

Damn, he was going to beast this year. Hope it’s easily fixable

nm... forgot he's 2021

This isn't 1960. Tearing an acl is like putting a chain back on your bike. Not a huge deal especially with him still having 3 years before he ever touches a field for Texas.

Holy crap what a tough break.  It's getting serious when our snakebit reality at tight end extends down to our TE commits who are two seasons away from signing ....

Torn ACL and meniscus.

Not ideal but could be a lot worse, at least it wasn’t Cupp

I'm guessing he'll be back in time to participate in the Opening and Rivals camps in Feb/March or would that be coming back to soon?

Torn is typically 9 months per a quick google.

Seems like child beater AD had that injury 5ish years ago and went to Europe for some odd rehab and surgery. Came back in a lot less time.

If he tore his ACL and meniscus, it means it was probably pretty bad. Doubt he competes at either of those. No reason to rush back for some stupid camps.

He has 4 years to become a monster and contribute, get well big guy.

Return to play after ACL depends on how it’s reconstructed. The old thinking was wait a month before surgery, but now it’s often earlier if there is also other work to do. Allograft (dead person from bone bank) tendon graft usually 9 months before full go. Autograft (some hamstrings from the patient that he, believe or not, won’t miss) tendon graft usually 6 months. Bone-tendon-bone autograft (chunks of knee cap, shin, and strip of tendon connecting them) usually 4 1/2 months. Optimistically he might be cleared for unrestricted cutting and pivoting (the last activities to be permitted) circa January 2020. Very surgery (and hence surgeon) dependent, though.

surgery is next week and he is getting the last type of surgery you described.

Prayers for the young man and a speedy recovery.

in a case like this, does the texas med/training staff poke their nose into this? especially rehab wise? hes not signed, but you know where hes going. so, what are the rules for that kind of involvement?

Lake's surgery is being done by the UT Team Dr. that does all of their knee surgeries including Cade Brewer's. Rehab will be through the Dr's in-house PT.

Well that sucks

He’s going to OU. This happened weeks ago

NSD2 is over, good time to make official what we already knew.  Don’t like losing a guy with his talent but it looks like it’s best for everyone

Aight. Who dropped who?

According to TFB, the coaches hadn’t been in contact much and he took the hint.
