https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jan/31/cbp-border-agent-charged-drunk-driving "A US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) employee was recently arrested amid the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown in Minnesota after state troopers reportedly found him “covered in vomit” and unconscious in a car."
From the post above yours- "“The men and women of ICE and Border Patrol are fathers and mothers, sons and daughters,” McLaughlin said in a statement to The Independent. “Like everyone else, our officers just want to go home to our families at night. The violence and dehumanization of these men and women who are simply enforcing the law must stop.”" They're blowing whistles on our lunch break!
A: Essentially what Archer said. They're power tripping grievance addicts whose only concept of happiness involves other people suffering. They're whole identity and understanding of themselves is some delusion that they are heroic agents of retribution, and in order for them to maintain this cringe of an identity, there needs to be an enemy and that enemy has to pay. Preferably a smaller, less powerful, unarmed enemy.
That's one of the things getting overlooked in all of this. Pretti wasn't just being restrained, he was getting the shit kicked out of him by federal agents. That by itself was egregious abuse of power.
