2024 Playoffs Round 1: Clemson at Texas
A blind draw.

FINAL 2024 CFB polls/rankings - Texas #3/ #4 /#3 (CFP/AP/Coaches)
I'd like to hear Yormark answer the question why the 2 Big 12 CCG teams are determined by their conference W/L record rather than overall SOS.

Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread
This logic always cracks me up. A few years ago I used to post on Texags on rare occasions. There was a thread once about the fact that the Texas/OU game was almost always two ranked teams, while the Texas/aggy game seldom was. The overwhelming majority believed the date of the games was the reason for that. Earlier in the season teams had fewer losses and it was easier to be ranked. I responded with basic logic - that the number of ranked teams stayed exactly the same every week and therefore it was statistically no more difficult to be ranked in Week 13 than week 1. I was negged to Bolivia and temporarily banned. They never could get their heads around the fact that the primary reason was that OU was usually good and aggy usually wasn't.

FINAL 2024 CFB polls/rankings - Texas #3/ #4 /#3 (CFP/AP/Coaches)
Yes. Higher seeds in first round get a home game. But how is it decided whether that's Friday night or one of the Saturday slots?

FINAL 2024 CFB polls/rankings - Texas #3/ #4 /#3 (CFP/AP/Coaches)
At the risk of incurring the boundless wrath of fellow surlers and suffering an onslaught of their verbal slings and arrows if this has already been answered, I have a question. Is there an established method for determining the time slot of the first round games or the site assignments for the later rounds? E.g. do the higher seeded teams get to choose? Or is it all decided by the TV powers?

This was the original question. The answer is that the application for SECCG was sent and the deadline for requesting tickets had passed.- Season Ticket Renewal

I think what the writer describes as "game control" is the ESPN creation that they use in their own calculation of relative team strength. That is not the same thing that the CFP committee uses which, as far as I know, has no clear definition. However they look at it, that metric has to be a big plus for Texas. Other than the UGA game Texas has only trailed against OU (3-0) for about 2 minutes and Vandy (7-0) for about 5 minutes. I am almost positive we have never been behind after the 1st quarter outside of UGA.- Uniform Pron

First, it's "tuddies" not "tuddy's". Second, don't say "tuddies".- Game Week 10, Texas at Arkansas
I've been to 3 games vs. Arkansas. 1. 2003 at DKR (38-28 Arky) 2. 2014 Alamo Bowl (31-7 Arky; 59 yards total offense) 3. 2021 at Fayetteville (40-21 Arky) I'm staying away this week.- Game Week 10, Texas at Arkansas
The first game I ever saw in person at DKR was 2003 Arkansas. Texas was #5 and a 16.5 point favorite. Final score was 38-28 Arky, and included this memorable play in the 3rd quarter: 3rd & 30 at ARK 3 (2:50 - 3rd) Matt Jones (ARK) pass left side complete to George Wilson (ARK) for 54 yards. Yep. Third and 30 from their own 3 and they converted. The silver lining was that VY was watching from the sidelines and taking notes for '04 and '05.- Game Week 10, Texas at Arkansas
It's called Wisky for a reason.- Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread
For a decade all we heard from aggy was about the grind of a full SEC schedule, how it depleted the roster and tested a team's depth - how Texas was lucky to play in the much softer Big 12 and would never be able to stand up to the SEC gauntlet. Now, they're complaining because Texas is healthier and deeper than the teams we play.- Dallas Cowboys 2024 Season Thread -- Jerrah the Asshat Rides Again
Maybe this should be added as an option for winning the coin toss: kick, receive, defer, select a field direction, or close the curtains. - Season Ticket Renewal
