Dallas Cowboys 2022 Offseason Thread -- Every Time Jerrah Talks, an Angel Sheds Their Wings
Jesse Holley on the latest episode of hangin with the boys went off on this team, and rightfully so. I encourage you to listen if you haven’t already. My man was preaching facts, and I find that a lot of times he’s the only one associated with the team that will give the unabashed, uncensored truth.

No question. I think Garabay is really talented, but this position is so fucking fickle. It’s 100% mental. Anyone that is capable of getting a tryout is an nfl caliber kicker if they can cross the mental hurdle. And kicking for the Dallas cowboys on primetime every other game adds another mental layer. They won’t do it, but I’d STILL hit up Kai forbath today just to see if he wants to compete for the spot.

I don’t have a problem with getting rid of Cooper. I do have a problem with getting rid of Cooper if you don’t have any plan to replace him. And we dont. Not with a fucking 3rd round rookie, and James Washington. Dak is set up to fail next year, and he will. He will get all the blame, but that comes with the territory of getting paid like an elite qb when you’re a fringe top 10 qb at best

Carr has never had the running game that both Dak and cousins have had several times in their careers. Nor has he had a group of wrs like Dak and cousins have had. He’s firmly in that tier in my opinion, but I’ll admit that I don’t have a lot of real word evidence to back up that opinion. I’ve just always been somewhat impressed by him (and cousins for that matter) and think both are pretty underrated. They just aren’t “set the market” type of qbs. They’re guys that should bounce around to teams like the 49ers, or the eagles, who could make a claim that they’re a qb away

I don’t disagree with what you’re saying. My larger point is, maybe don’t pay Kirk cousins level qbs market value unless you’re genuinely close. Unless you’re genuinely a qb away.

Have you finally come around to the idea that Dak is the black Kirk cousins? If we’re being honest, their careers are a lot more similar than we want to give it credit for. I’m higher on Kirk cousins than most people, but it’s because I think him and Dak are firmly in the same tier of qb, along with Derek carr. Both Dak and Kirk can look really fucking good with a good to great running game. Average without one. Both have the same exact playoff record if I’m not mistaken. I think we might have overpaid for our boy. No defensive coordinator is like “oh fuck, we have Dak this week.”

But that’s the thing. He thought winning would ultimately get him that respect he was craving. He thought eventually people would look past the fact that he joined the greatest regular season team ever. It never happened.

Unpopular opinion, but there should be more draws in mma. Especially since these fighters pay is based off of wins and losses. Kattar v Emmett was a draw imo

I won’t even go as far as he choked. And I get why he wanted to leave OKC. I’m not faulting him for that. I’m not faulting him for losing to that team after being down 3-1. But as a competitor, that should eat away at you a little bit. Even if those are your friends over there (in fact, ESPECIALLY if they’re your friends) most competitors would be like “fuck that team. Maybe j have to leave OKC to beat that team, but I have to avenge that. Fuck them.” Joining them after all that just makes you look like a bitch. I said this in another thread but I love KD the basketball player. Arguably the best offensive player to ever step foot on a basketball court and he has a great argument. He went to Texas. I love all that. I just wish he didn’t pull what will go down as one of, if not the biggest bitch moves in nba history. It’s something that is going to stick with his legacy, and it really didn’t have to be this way.

In your hypothetical scenario, joining San Antonio would not have been the same thing. Not even close. San Antonio didn’t just beat you after being down 3-1, and San Antonio didn’t just come off of back to back finals appearances without you. San Antonio wasn’t a Draymond green suspension away from being back to back champs without you. They didn’t just come off the greatest regular season of all time without you. He could’ve gone to LITERALLY any other team in the nba, and he wouldn’t have gotten the reaction he got.

A viable alternative would have been literally any other team in the entire nba. Is that what you were looking for? It was a bitch move.

NBA Playoffs 2022
I’m a fan of KD the player. He might honestly be the single greatest offensive player the nba has ever seen, and he also happened to go to the university that I’ve cared about since I was a child. I ALSO think joining the best team in the league when you were up 3-1 against them might be the single biggest bitch move in the history of the nba from a competitors standpoint. I do actually respect KD the Twitter head now, but this team never needed him. They needed a good two way player like Wiggins, but they never needed one of the all time great players added to their already dominant core. But to answer your question on “where is this coming from” I’m not sure where to start. What part of what I said is confusing to you and I’ll do my best to clarify. This core would be considered a dynasty with or without the presence of KD. The 3 finals trips and 2 championships without him all but cements that, ESPECIALLY now that they’ve done it when all members of their core are past their prime years. That in and of itself puts a big “yeah but” on KD’s legacy when it didn’t need to be there. Even KD knows that at this point. He’d still be a warrior if he didn’t know that
-
NBA Playoffs 2022
While this may be true, the core of this team was 3 years older this year, replaced him with Andrew Wiggins, and just won another title. This core now has 3 finals appearances and 2 titles without him. You can think whatever you want to think but that is not a media narrative. That is a fact. And it severely weakens his legacy as an all time great, since people will always be able to point to that. It’s obvious that Steph deferred to KD when KD was out there, but when he wasn’t, Steph went back to being the fucking assassin that he’s always been.
-
Dismantling the warriors
Who could’ve predicted the suns choking as hard as they did. If you remove the suns from the picture, the warriors had as good a chance as anyone in the playoffs
-
Dismantling the warriors
It’s almost as if Steph wouldn’t have deferred to KD and he would’ve gone back to being the assassin he’s always been without KD on the team.
-
Dismantling the warriors
And just like that KDs championships are essentially worthless…

NBA Playoffs 2022
In what world is Boston a layup for GS when Boston has CLEARLY been the better team for the 2nd half of the regular season? This seems like a foolish take. The Celtics might be the worst possible matchup for the warriors, but I still think they win in 7. But this ain’t no fucking layup for anyone

I know he’s injury prone, but what’s the story on will fuller? Is he healthy right now? If so, I’d take a shot on him with a one year deal. When he’s healthy, he can be a difference maker. Our passing game will be dog shit to start the year with what we’re working with right this second

Nobody in this division has gone back to back since 2004. This team probably won’t be the first. The eagles will probably find a way to go 9-8 and something will happen where we implode and McCarthy gets fired. It seems so obvious
