My money would be on the latter scenario.
  4. Agree. My Goldens have not been quite as derpy as my friends' labs.
  5. I am on my second Golden Retriever. She's 12 years old, got her as a puppy. First one was a rescue. Both are/were two of the smartest, eager to learn and please dogs I have ever been around. I'll likely be dogless for a while after Mollie goes, but if I do get another one, it will be a Golden.
  6. Don't shit on my happiness, MN.

    At the Spahn Movie Ranch?
  10. I have been using fish emulsion (mix with water, apply every two weeks) this year for the first time ever. It has my veggies and flowers producing like crazy. Good stuff, IMO.
  11. Make sure you both do. Don't try to go alone and then train the wife. The natural disdain that wives have for husbandly knowledge means she will not pay attention to you.
  12. How did BearSchlong phrase it? The odds are good, but the goods are odd.
  13. Just got back from a week at Cape San Blas (Port St. Joe, Apalachicola, FL area) where I discovered this sauce. It truly is great on oysters. I preferred the XX Hot version for a little more heat.
  14. Last batch of spare ribs I smoked, I drizzled Mike's hot honey on 'em when I went to the wrap. They turned out awesome.
  15. An appraisal isn't a home inspection. They are making an estimate of the market value of the house. There may be adjustments to the appraisal for noted areas of depreciation (roof, etc.).
  16. Top notch holster. Very comfortable.
  17. PSA, if my recent experience is any judge, there is about a 5 month wait time on SOB holsters. Ordered an IWB for my P228 in late February 2021; received the holster the first week of August.
  18. That 75K a year ain't gonna spend itself.
  19. Momma just chase 'em off with a broom.
  20. The Audobon Aquarium is good to entertain kids.
  21. March 1998, wife and I are ensconced in our 2 BR apartment in Alexandria, VA. Hear a loud POW and then water starts jetting out of every opening in the ceiling. WTF, we're running around like chickens with their heads cut off with water continuing to jet down. Call the property management office, goes to voicemail, leave a panicked message. At this point, we've got about 3 inches of water and more keeps coming down. Open the patio door, front door, garage door (had an attached 1 car garage), still coming down. Dial 911 and ask for fire department to come out. Fire trucks show up and the water is about knee deep in our apartment even with the doors open. Finally remember the wife's cat and go searching for it. She's under the bed and the carpet has floated up so much she is pinned between the carpet and the box springs. Drag the cat out by her tail, throw her in the cat carrier and put in the bathtub, which ironically enough was the driest spot in the whole fucking apartment. Firemen finally turn the water off and we learn that the sprinkler system for this 400 plus unit apartment complex broke directly over our apartment. I ponder whether I should be more diligent in my church attendance. Water is turned off, we've moved our clothes over to the neighbor across the breezeway; neighbors two floors up took the cat in for the night. Long story short, had to threaten legal action to get apartment to let us out of lease. Every piece of furniture and electronics we had were totally fucked. Allstate dragged their feet and put us off on resolving renters insurance claim until I finally filed a complaint with the VA insurance commissioner and copied every executive at Allstate I could find on the internet, and then, 10 months after the event, we got a very healthy check from Allstate. So, in summary, prepare thy anus and fight the good fight.
