  1. Exactly. And perhaps the color will fade into something that looks more like orange.
  2. More like old school Oilers. But whatever, the turquoise is a little different and they’re a million times better than what they’ve had. Also, UNM had these back in the ‘70s: They’re perfect for UNM, the state flagship school. The Zia is on the state flag and aesthetically it is great on a helmet. Turquoise on silver is perfect for NM. This should be their brand.
  3. I just bought the one from Co-op. On the web site it looks like this: in reality, the color is…not like this. It is darker and has a lot less orange (and more brown) than this photo suggests. It’s not a bad color, in a vacuum, but it’s not what I’d call “burnt orange.” I’ve never worn a BB hat before this one. The fit/shape is fine, overall it’s nothing special. I thought about sending it back but that seemed like more effort than I was willing to give. So I’m keeping it but probably wouldn’t recommend it.
  4. Fuck. Yes. I live in abq and have been screaming for them to get rid of the shitty cartoon lobo logos for years and slap a Zia on the helmet and work turquoise back into the unis. Grand fucking slam, UNM. These are damn near perfect.
  5. Goddamnit. You've introduced (into the surly records) two @Wulaw Horn visuals recently: 1. him sticking his finger into a giant bowl of queso, mixing in salsa, and wiggling it around; and 2. him rubbing his vagina (presumably with his fingers, again). I've seen Wulaw Horn in person before (and his fingers); now my mind's eye can't unsee this unholy merging of him, his fingers, his unkept vagina, and some sort of red, chunky plasma cheese. I'm all for using this forum to publicly call him out and shame him, but for the love of god, please refrain from further describing what he does with his fingers.
  6. The way I remember it, both Leach and Briles had Texas ranked lower than everyone else, outside of the top 5; it ensured that OU was ahead of Texas and the coaches poll impacted the BCS standings or whatever the tiebreaker was. I think Briles had Texas like #7 or something stupid. I assumed the reason was because he believed that Texas winning another title was not good for his program.
  7. Hasn’t this jumped the shark yet? And by “yet” I mean 10 years ago.
  8. This is a good point. He seems miserable with his decision to go to Texas, probably due to a deep cultural disconnection.
  9. (I reject the premise that Waco or College Station are as good as any other place on earth, except each other.)
  10. I bought a Texas t-shirt from Homefield once. The sleeves were super short and the neck hole seemed to be made for the giant of Castelnau. Terrible.
  11. Sigh, what exactly did we do now?
  12. Agreed, his schtick where he’d pretend to admonish the listeners for their sophomoric and crude humor as a means of perpetuating the jokes was his best stuff.

  14. If any kids of the 80s remembers the original “Watcher in the Woods” - which was also Disney - holy shit.
  15. We’re about the same age. I remember thinking that I definitely wanted to see this “octopussy” movie, but I didn’t want to see it with my parents. Unfortunately, I was 7, so what are you gonna do.
