My brother had 600 silver dollars he had accumulated over 20 years in a footlocker stored above his garage along with lots of other old junk.
One of his sons and a neighbor kid liked to play up there and snoop in that stuff.
Then one day brother decided to haul the coins down and put them in his new gun safe. Of course they were missing.
(the garage door was left open quite a bit in those days 50 years ago, so anybody could sneak in)
Then the neighborhood kids’ rumor mill indicated that his son’s “friend” had been spending silver dollars for candy at the nearby 7/11.
Brother went over there to question the owner & his clerks, but of course they denied all knowledge of any such transactions.
A bit of nostalgia - these are the type of school desks we used at St. Bernadette’s Parochial in St. Louis during the mid 1950s. We didn’t have to utilize the inkwell holes, as we were transitioning from using fountain pens to ball point pens.
The desk top lifted up to access the bookshelf underneath.
Each row in the classroom was made up of desks attached to runners like these in the photo.
Gotdammit!
Clicked on a “back in stock” email for this Colt SAA a little while ago and went through the checkout process as quickly as my old fat fingers would work, but by the time I hit submit order it was “out of stock”.

They get one in stock maybe twice a year at most, but I must be pretty far down the wait list.
When I bought my first iPhone years ago, I was kinda startled when this female voice popped up and said, “Hi, my name is Siri. How may I help you?”.
I replied, “Siri, shut the fuck up”.
Haven’t heard a peep out of her since.
Scrape out the filling - separate the protein from the salad & refrigerate all.
Next day warm up the protein, crisp up the flattened out limp taco shell in the air fryer, then refill it with the meat & salad.
Better than a soggy mess.
