  1. I don’t get it either. Seems like another thing that the media has just accepted as an actual issue, kinda like the self-pardoning mentioned above. Both of them were on the same side and working towards the same outcome, right? I would absolutely agree it could be a problem if they were on opposing sides of the issue, but that’s not the case here. Who cares if they were banging? Maybe it’s unprofessional, but it’s not illegal afaik, and I don’t see how it has any impact on the legitimacy of the case or the alleged crimes. How does “they were fucking” have any relevance here at all? Is there some underlying issue that I’m missing? Like, they were conspiring together to hide exculpatory evidence or something?
  2. Does any school with a football team also have a reputable culinary program that would even come close to the value of just working in the industry? That doesn’t seem like a skill you really learn in a classroom
  3. I can tell you that a lot of folks around here have plenty to say about Judge Connor. Also, I have litigated a case against that defendant. Don’t believe I’ve crossed paths with his attorney though
  4. This should serve as a good reminder to everyone to really limit your water usage as much as possible December - February. Make sure your irrigation systems are off, don’t fill your pool, don’t wash your cars at home, etc. The water man assumes all water used in those months is going down your pipes
  5. Maybe just bad phrasing, but the section is titled “Right to hold federal office…”
  6. They said he had an exclusivity deal with Nathan’s. Then he signed an agreement with a competitor of Nathan’s. I assume that means the new deal was worth more. Don’t really see how that’s dumb of him. Unless you’re saying Nathan’s is being dumb in which case I’d agree with you. Just say he can’t wear any of their swag during the event. They gave so much more attention to the endorsement by making such a fuss about it. I assume I’ll still watch the competition, but without him it’s not going to be nearly as exciting. I’d imagine they’ll have a noticeable drop in viewership. That probably doesn’t affect their TV contract for a bit, but it might when it’s time to renew
  7. Not that anybody here would ever do something so juvenile and hilarious, but something like "You've been annexed by Aggie Nation. Whoop!" or some such would be entertaining to watch unfold
  8. Geez. An hour to get out? I assume there’s a faster process in case of emergency?
  9. If I was one of them, I don’t think I’d want to get back in as early as tomorrow
  10. This never really got much recognition, but they’ve been saying this all along. What does “Make America Great AGAIN” mean other than “Right now, this country sucks.” If a Democrat ever had that as a slogan, they would’ve been immediately skewered by right wing media and would’ve ultimately lost support of the DNC.
  11. Well, if it were me, and my client was saying things that could be grounds for ineffective assistance of counsel, I’d probably say something like “we called all of the witnesses that the defense team, in agreement with our client, believed provided our strongest case. Anyone that wasn’t called had been determined by us to likely damage our defense and/or bolster the prosecutions case.”
  12. These numbers may still creep up a little more, but for comparison, at this time yesterday they were all running at 0-10 cfs
  13. Finally some good rainfall numbers in the Travis watershed!
  14. How would an app simulate slamming your phone down?
  15. Care to elaborate a bit? I don’t understand any system that requires moving 800 people because of a potential thunderstorm. I could understand a tornado warning, but every time it rains?!?
  16. Depending on how long this whole process took, you probably lost money.
  17. Almost time to renew my VPN subscription. This coming anytime soon, @immamac?
  18. If Wunderground is to be believed, they expect border control to handle it. Rain chances in Austin dropped from guaranteed to schmaybe
  19. Wish shit like this got more publicity. Too many people fail to remember that the US does the whole military industrial complex thing pretty well. A huge amount of spending in Ukraine comes out of our advertising budget. See how good our old shit works? Imagine what the new stuff can do!
  20. Am I mistaken, or was that first round through Austin kinda unexpected? When I looked this morning, I thought I only saw storms expected this evening
  21. If there’s a silver lining to be had, it seems like the humidity has been greatly reduced. Feels pretty damn nice outside right now
  22. Gotdamnit! Pool guy left just before that system came through. Looks like an entire crepe myrtle in my pool, but not a drop of fucking rain. And my kids left the damn water slide on last night (runs from a garden hose) so now the water is above the skimmer level
  23. Yeah, maybe not "external" lawyers, but she does have clerks, two of which were presumably replaced recently with folks that may see that particular clerkship as beneficial to their future endeavors in Trump World...which means they're likely pretty Trumpy themselves.
  24. He’s the worst
  25. Sadly, it isn’t the original plaque. Font is different
