Put in the big hole and gouge on it (truck driver check in)
A little good news/bad news guessing game. 1. While I was home I put ole sparkle cake in the shop. Fixed an exhaust leak and a few minor issues. First time I’ve been to “my shop” since the whole motor fiasco. My mechanic calls and says the trucks ready so I ask what I owe him. He says $0. He is putting it in as warranty work even though nothing I had him work on had anything to do with any work he’s done previously. 2. 1300 miles from home and I throw a code for the EGR valve and the truck derates on me. I made it to load out in Detroit then head to a shop. $3700 later I have a new EGR valve and I’m back on the road. any guesses on which one is good news or bad news. On a better note while I was in the shop I talked to a salesman and we speced, spec’d, specd (none of those look right) out a new 579. Looking at around $220,000. If I get $100,000 for ole sparkle cake I’ll be pulling the trigger after the first of the year. (Tax reasons)

As a trade in I should get $100k or more. selling out right maybe $115-$120k selling would bring me more but the time and hassle and logistics of selling and then buying are a pain in the ass. I don’t plan on just buying what’s available, I will want to spec the truck I buy.- Put in the big hole and gouge on it (truck driver check in)

Sparkle was built for heavy haul and oversize. The new one will be a highway princess and will never run over gross. I’m averaging low 4’s mpg now. I have a friend that just bought a 579 and he’s averaging 7+ mpg- Put in the big hole and gouge on it (truck driver check in)
Probably a little over $200k by the time I’m done specking it out. maybe a smaller motor. 500hp instead of 565 and 13 speed transmission instead of 18 but it will still be a manual. shorter wheel base too. I’m at 280” now- Put in the big hole and gouge on it (truck driver check in)
After the mess I went through with the motor and the warranty company I don’t trust it any more. It’s like riding around with a ticking time bomb. looking at the new 579’s id like to do something like this but white and burnt orange instead or red and black.- Put in the big hole and gouge on it (truck driver check in)
Some of those concrete loads I was hauling out of New Braunfels were paying up to $10 a mile. Like these we’re paying me $1600 a piece from New Braunfels to Taylor.- Put in the big hole and gouge on it (truck driver check in)
Haven’t had a lot of good photo opps lately. And this WWE gig is turning into a real grind. I’ll have sparkle cake paid off in November and I’m probably going to go shopping for a new truck and move back over to the music tours. we were in Lexington yesterday. And I’m parked next to Lambeau field today but we aren’t allowed over there.- Put in the big hole and gouge on it (truck driver check in)
Last time I was over the road chasing freight was 2023 I believe. I wouldn’t start my truck for less that $2 a mile after deadhead. It was getting real hard to find that then so I went to a different company with their own customers hauling the oversize and heavy hall loads.- Political Cartoons - The Politics Thread.

Ok. I looked back at our schedule so I knew we weren’t in that area. Stage Call trailers are just white unless the tour wants them wrapped. I know a driver that just started at Warner and they started her off at $.42 a mile. They are a company that hires straight out of driving school. Their drivers should average around 2k miles a week. In comparison when I started in the early 90’s my first job was $.21 a mile. I think with experience and a clean driving record some of the better companies are paying around $.60 per mile or better.- Put in the big hole and gouge on it (truck driver check in)
I have a fan club. They show up every night after the show is over. A WWE truck? He must have been lost.- Put in the big hole and gouge on it (truck driver check in)
Lined up in Louisville, KY across the river from the yum center. Waiting for the show to go down so we can go to work. you can see the bridge in the background where this happened last year. That was a skinny motherfucker. I pissed a lot of folks off but I took 2 lanes going across.- Put in the big hole and gouge on it (truck driver check in)
A fan took this video of me rolling into Dayton,OH. After I got parked I walked over and asked him if he was posting online. He thought he was in trouble. I told him I just wanted a link to the vid. I swear I see 10-15 people a day taking pics or vids as they are passing me on the highway. I search #’s on social media sites all the time looking for pics and vids of our trucks. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJX-IDnNH59/?igsh=MW1zc3BjdTRrZ3Q2bg== Nutter Center at Wright University in Dayton. https://www.instagram.com/p/DJdUt_6t96b/?igsh=MTVxZGMxYm9jOXJoaA==- Put in the big hole and gouge on it (truck driver check in)
A short clip of how we get into some of the tight docks. This was St Louis. Back onto the ramp off the street. Then between 2 columns into the dock. All at different angles. IMG_1361.mov- Put in the big hole and gouge on it (truck driver check in)

Now that ole Sparkle Cake is back up and running I’m going to try and update this thread more. I know I’ve said that before so I’m probably lying. I know several of yall have driven or been in trucking related jobs. But there has to be other current surly drivers that should be posting here too. anyway. Just spent 6 days in Vegas with Raw and Smackdown for Wrestlemania week. and now I’m on my way to Ft worth for a Friday night show. https://www.instagram.com/p/DIzPFsIREVv/?igsh=MW9jdHh5eW5vbHNx - Put in the big hole and gouge on it (truck driver check in)
