A surviving spouse gets their benefit or 100% of the dead spouse’s benefit, whichever is higher if the dead spouse has reached FRA. Reduced accordingly on a monthly basis if dead spouse didn’t reach FRA
There is no advantage to waiting after70. SS maxes out at 70 no matter how long you live thereafter. There are also good tax reasons to wait until FRA if you want to work between 62 and FRA
I reach my FRA in January(66 and 8 months). I’m in no rush so it will be sometime between 67 and 70. At FRA I’ll qualify for around $3500 per month and for every month past FRA you get 2/3% additional until 70.
My wife says that we can live anywhere in the world as long as we're within 15 minutes of our young grandson. He lives in Fulshear with his mother and father. We live in Katy. I'm stuck:(.
Apparently died in his sleep last night. Funny guy, a cheerleader for Houston and the Astros and well known in the sports and entertainment fields in the city.
An electrician we have used before who installed outside up lighting for us. He charged $500 and it took him 4-5 hours. Jeyson Carrasco of Houston Northpoint Electric. Because it’s mounted next to and made a part of your electric panel make sure you use a master electrician.
I live in East College Station(Katy) and we bought a portable generator after the freeze in 2021 when ERCOT screwed up. We have a dual fuel 9500 watt Westinghouse and had a transfer switch installed. It’s enough to run everything downstairs including A/C or heat. 5 gallons of gas will last around 16 hours and a bbq tank of propane will last around 12 hours. You do not need to run it continuously. It can be shut off for awhile and turned back on if the temperature gets too hot(or cold) for you inside. The generator is also remote start and stop.
Denon 3700h receiver as a pre/pro running through a Parasound A52 amp. ML Foundation 2s for the front, ML center, 2 Deftech subs, Deftech in walls for the rear, Oppo 205 universal dvd and LG C-1 all run through a Panamax line conditioner.
The video card is shot. If you feel really handy, it can be replaced, but the cost, time and effort probably aren’t worth it with the amount of TV you get for your money these days.
