USC and TCU will throttle us
I think this guy exactly characterizes our offense under Herman/Beck so far.

USC and TCU will throttle us
USC is terrible against the run. Beck will know this. However, he will also know that USC knows their own weakness and he will anticipate that USC will load the box to cover their weakness, thus leaving the pass less well-defended. So we will come in committed to the pass and then abandon the run game entirely once we inevitably fall behind. Our defense will be ok for a bit and then inexplicably suffer a few break downs. Either that our we'll open the game letting them score on the first three drives before tightening things up. That's just the way we roll... Poor planning and execution on offense and a few key lapses on defense.

Don't think he ever actually committed to Texas.

Targeting
I don't think it was dirty like he wanted to injure him or anything, but it was overly aggressive and a dumb play by GJ that was a legitimate penalty. All GJ had to do was touch him as he slid. He definitely extended into the Maryland QB with his legs. In this day and age with the rules being what they are, defenders have to be pretty dumb to hit a sliding QB.

On the Mensa train or not?
I voted yes because the question was phrased using the word "can". Had it been "will" I would have selected the wait and see option. I think he will need to make some coaching changes (OC and the various position coaches), figure out personnel selection during games, and find a QB. Those are three big things to do and I doubt that they can or would happen this year, but I think things will get better and we will probably win some games that no one expects us to. The O line pass protection was better and I am not sure there is a position on offense that isn't better than last year (although last years offense was bad, so its not saying much). I think the defense is slightly worse. The rest of the big 12 got worse this year too, with most of the big name senior QBs moving on (that also happened at USC).

He was an excellent hugger.

Texas will have a “brutal and dominant rushing attack” next year
What RB is that? NM - Ingram

Urban Meyer suspended first 3 games
The ESPN headline says “Herman: Happy to talk strip club visit with NCAA”. Sounds like it was a legendary night.

Del Conte’s Overture to aggy - bad or good look?
So, to sum up: 1. Despite being a self-proclaimed national powerhouse blue-blood program, Aggy can't accomplish anything in the Big 12 due to the meddling of Texas 2. After years of losing, they then decide to leave for the SEC where they can play against "real competition" instead of these no-name schools in the Big 12 3. They lose the last game of the rivalry against a down-year Texas team, somehow making Case McCoy look like Vince Young 4. After moving to the SEC, they have 1 surprisingly good year with Johnny Manziel 5. They start changing the narrative to "Texas is scared and won't play us" after there's a story about how Texas didn't want to give up a non-conference game against them right after they left the Big 12 6. Despite Texas having a truly abysmal decade, the new AD reaches out and offers to schedule A&M. 7. A&M declines because they are way too busy with the big-boys of college football, such as Alabama. They need their tune-up game with App State. 8. Texas schedules Alabama instead, who doesn't really feel like they need a tune-up game to face the mighty Aggies.

How does Bobby actually get paid to write for a living? Bobby has been accused of being a new era of Texas football? That's pretty arrogant. It's also weird that he totally lost his sentence structure after the first item in his list.

Are you suggesting that we need to keep recruiting players once they are here so that they don't transfer?

" the FAU strength program is substantially more rigorous than Texas"
Both of those guys would have been under the Pat Moorer program. Malik Jefferson and several others got way bigger and stronger after one year with Yancy McKnight. If Deandre gets stronger, his gf better watch out.

CTJ owning a day spa really explains his closeness with EJ. They go get a mani/pedi, have a nice dinner, talk recruiting and hot guys the whole time.

Linclon Riley "No room for that (domestic violence) on our staff"
The Joe Mixon thing wasn't domestic violence so it is allowable under OU rules. She wasn't a family member or girlfriend.

Maryland player died of heatstroke, DJ Durkin placed on administrative leave
Any chance that Herman reported the death to try to make game 1 easier? If so, clearly this is all Texas meddling with another program and we need to leave other schools alone so their coaches can properly discipline thier players and wives.

There's pictures of the injuries and text messages on McMurphy's facebook page. Are you saying McMurphy photoshopped them?
