  1. It's criminal, and she knows it. "The Pentagon doesn't release that information". OK then.
  2. How more real Christians are not challenging the blatant hypocrisy of these government policies is baffling. That the Christian right is claiming to be doing Christ's work while promoting everything that is antithetical to his teachings just bottles the mind. I can only imagine what you're seeing in Texas churches.

  6. The sky is pink. Up is down. It is so because I say it is so.
  7. Would've been an impressive spreadsheet if he WAS following it. "Day 1: very moderate drinking. Day 2: no drinking. Days 3-47: drink heavily."
  8. Well that was what I decided- it was just too much work and effort to try to moderate in any ENJOYABLE way. I could do it, but it was work and not fun. It was just easier to stop. I really haven't had almost any major consequences from my drinking, except almost blowing up my marriage. That's why I've been able to drink functionally for decades. And really had fun doing it a lot of the time. Until it stopped being fun. I never drank during the day (except weekends/vacations of course), and for the most part kept it under reasonable control. But I was just surviving. Not thriving. And I decided I needed to see what life could be like without this cloud always hanging over me. One thing I've definitely found is I have never ONCE woke up and regretted not drinking the night before.
  9. Not sure if it's my phone or what, but it's been happening a lot. When I go to reply to a thread, it just shuts tapa down. Every time. I've installed any updates, but keeps happening.
  10. I spent 6 hours yesterday working on boat projects. Got down there around 9:15 and got a lot done. Used to be more like get there around 11:30-12, do 2 or 3 basic things, take a nap, and drive home. Probably after calling someone to come do the thing I probably should’ve just done myself.
  11. Interesting, and pretty spot on, perspective from, of all people, Steve O. But he's right. It's the "kind of an alcoholic" purgatory that can keep you locked in drinking for a lot longer. It doesn't blow up your job, your marriage, your friendships, etc. It just keeps you from moving forward in any meaningful way. If you're a full blown alcoholic in the "burn it all to the ground" sort of way, you get to the bottom a hell of a lot faster. Sorry, FB video, so not a great link. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1464282845223388 Personally just hit 90 days. And happy.
  12. Going in for my 6 month scans on Thursday. Hoping for the same. Although I'm really not cancer free, as I have to get the second chunk of squamous cell carcinoma cut out of my foot next week. I had a cut on the top of my foot about the size of a quarter that just would NOT heal for the longest time, like 8 months. I saw my GP, who sent me to a wound specialist and they couldn't get it to heal either after about 2 months. Finally she's like, "let's biopsy it." Sure enough, scc. Took a massive chunk of the top of my foot out. But she was like, "what's this weird thing over here?? Let's biosy that too." And, yep, SCC. Getting that cut out next week. Bitchass cancer.

  16. Yes. Just when we think things are at their worst, but you need that little extra to push you over the cliff, you know what we do? Eleven. Exactly. One worse.
  17. Never seen it. Have to give it a run.
