Whataburger.
I said it and I own it until I can get a Jalapeño Cheddar sausage, egg and cheese biscuit.
Most places seem to suck these days be it staffing issues, supply chain issues, etc. more frequently we will go out to eat and I’m left thinking to myself I could probably do it better myself.
Since I’m on this thread, I’ll just toss this out as I’m still processing this.
Weekend before last one of my hunting buddies and his wife were down in Rockport-Fulton area and he ate some raw oysters another couple had picked up somewhere. On Wednesday he went to the ER and was then flown to BSW Round Rock with a sepsis infection. He passed on Thursday at the age of 49. We hunted Africa together in 2016 and countless times in TX. I’m sad there will not be a 22-23 deer season to share with him.
TLDR: one of my favorite beer drinking, bbq-ing and hunting buddies passed unexpectedly way too young and he will be missed.
TLDR version: attended 2006 Rose Bowl and it was amazing. 16 years later I am much older and life is happening. Grand babies are coming and friends are starting to pass away from midlife causes. I love my Horns but there is too much real life shit causing me to question my own mortality and what is truly important to me is much more than what is happening on the field.
"We review...all the fears and anxiety...which are soinherently symptomatic......of a losing team.The mind is a strange thing, men.We must begin by asking it......"What is losing?"Losing is a disease......as contagious as polio.Losing is a disease......as contagious as syphilis.Losing is a disease......as contagious as bubonic plague...... attacking one... ... but infecting all. Ah, but curable.Now, I want you to imagine......you are on a ship at sea......on a vast......calm ocean......gently rocking.Gently rocking.Gently rocking.Gently rocking."
“As you get older, the quality of life is more important. No one player is bigger than the team. You don't quit in sports. You retire.“
or get shit canned. Adios Herm.
No luck on birds outside Castroville this morning, but picked up some lunch at Dziuk’s. The spicy was not overly spicy but still damn good.
Also the obligatory Haby’s stop to get some treats for the kids.
