  1. You know, I’d almost rather see 5 SEC bids than the annual coronation of the Irish
  2. Just flip ‘em. If Tech had played Texas’ schedule and vise versa what would the two teams records be? I think Tech could’ve equaled what Texas has done and I think Texas could’ve gone 9-0 with Tech’s (Tech should have done so too) but for arguments sake let’s say an injury led to Texas dropping the ASU game Having said that, NO ONE would be politicking that a 9-3 Tech would deserve a bid And NO ONE would be saying an 11-1 Texas team wasn’t a lock win or lose the CCG And that’s the rub. We can argue strength this and schedule that but at the end of the day the helmet logos still matter - a lot And I think 4 bids vs 2 bids makes that statement and acknowledges that tradition. But 5 bids to 1 bid just seems like overkill. It’s not like there’s zero recent history of the BIG12 doing damage in the playoffs with their 1 bid - hello Michigan
  3. Yeah, I’m not talking about teams with 2 reg season losses prior to the CCG I’m talking about the CCG loss being the 2nd loss BYU and Tech are the only two that can finish 11-1 If Tech loses on Sat, they’re done. It’ll be their 2nd conf loss and in a multiple 2 loss team tie-breaker scenarios, they come up short
  4. BYU is currently undefeated They and Tech could both finish 11-1 This thread is claiming the loser of their rematch is not worthy of the CFP
  5. Yep that’s what everyone likes to tell themselves. And it’s why the early season polls are bullshit because they are 100% based on what people think would happen in imaginary games not actual results - see 0-2 top10 Notre Dame
  6. Yes, I know. It’s bullshit! Can’t take a single 2 loss Big12 team but we can take multiple 2 loss teams from BIG and SEC Tech, Utah, and BYU are all good enough to equal the results of all those 2 loss SEC teams But we are told they aren’t good enough to prove it on the field (in the CFP)
  7. 5 SEC teams is only ridiculous when in conjunction with only 1 team Big12 - especially if there are multiple 11 win teams I don’t like making these discussions about Tech as I want there to be equity across the board. But in this case, I am gonna use the Tech example. Tech is 8-1 with all 8 wins by more than 20 points. The lone loss was on the road with an injury plagued team. And it’s being said that if they lose the conference championship game, they’re out. That’s bullshit.
  8. And that’s why we can’tbhave nice things
  9. It’s absolutely ridiculous
  10. Get Rid of Replay Now!!!!
  11. I know Tech can still win B12 - by elimination I mean for the league Zero chance now to get 2 playoff teams All the other leagues have multiple mulligans
  12. Shouldn’t be an elimination game but it is
  13. Turnover needed in a bad way
  14. I haven't attended any games yet this year but I can say for a fact that during the most recent prior seasons they were throwing puppies (with *possible* home playoff games on the horizon, this tortilla nonsense has turned into a very big deal - $100k fine per incident!!)
  15. There's a lot of cringe moments in the show but my daughter and I are still enjoying it. However, the new Eli's Places episode in which Eli visits with Powell about the show is much funnier
  16. Wow. Cats drop the game winner
  17. Holding call saves BYU from regretting not going for 2 in regulation
  18. Even is he was short, the spot was still wrong as well
  19. I could not disagree more. The rank prior to yesterday should not matter at all. Bama beat Georgia. Since their records are identical, we need no other data. I don’t need a poll to tell me who the better team is - I saw it with my own eyes. And I see that the AP poll did get it right. My initial response was to the posted poll with UGA still at 10
  20. Yes it matters. And it’s all bullshit. These rankings now fuel the arguments for multiple teams from same conferences come playoff time. Georgia and Alabama both have 1 loss. If playoffs were today, Georgia would have a better seed. Now, I understand that the playoffs don’t start today. And that the AP poll is not the CFPC. But the mindset is the same. And it bothers me to be told that philosophies and mindsets things will change come playoff time when it really matter and things will work themselves out. No! Philosophies shouldn’t change. That’s the mindset that drives me crazy.
  21. Go for 2 here?
  22. If it’s not throw the rule out
  23. Worst call of the game
  24. Yes it’s been idiotic forever. We are being told that the CFP has corrected it. I maintain that it has not. I am losing interest (ha, I’m posting on another schools message board) so I assume others are as well. Perhaps new consumers are outpacing us old timers and the ratings won’t falter. I know that I personally am not enjoying CFB like I used.
