CDC mentioned in the Town Hall that Grad students get half of parking. Baseball/softball get the other half. He knows it's a problem especially with I35 construction and MLK bridge partially town down. But not many options around there for parking.
P4 Champions are guaranteed entry to playoff in '26 without regard to ranking unlike this year. So Duke (!!!) would have be in this year over James Madison. And ND in over Miami (<cough> bullshit). https://www.threads.com/@bryandfischer/post/DT26Hb1ke0u?xmt=AQF0xZ_DWSL3jYFIZtuEjduv4tGfuqTrzMlk5DvW89IbqQ The CFP has formally informed ESPN that the playoff will remain at 12 teams for 2026 after the impasse between SEC and Big Ten continues, a source confirms. The format itself does change slightly however with P4 champions being granted automatic bids and ND if in the top 12.
And yet, ND had only one game in top 25 most watched last year. A Labor Day Weekend game with no competition. (Texas had 4 games, btw). This isn't 1975. The 2025 Most Watched GamesOhio State at Michigan — 18.42M Texas at Ohio State — 16.62M Texas A&M at Texas — 13.04M Georgia at Tennessee — 12.58M Alabama at Auburn — 11.31M Notre Dame at Miami — 10.80M Alabama at Florida State — 10.66M Oklahoma at Alabama — 10.48M LSU at Clemson — 10.45M Texas at Georgia — 10.43M Alabama at Georgia — 10.42M Mississippi at Georgia — 9.79M Michigan at Oklahoma — 9.67M Oklahoma vs. Texas — 8.73M Georgia at Georgia Tech — 8.72M Oregon at Penn State — 8.50M Tennessee at Alabama — 8.01M Alabama at South Carolina — 7.84M Army vs. Navy — 7.84M Georgia vs. Florida — 7.79M Florida at LSU — 7.64M LSU at Alabama — 7.54M Penn State at Ohio State — 7.19M Alabama at Missouri — 6.99M Texas A&M at LSU — 6.76M
I still don't understand why SEC/B1G leaders would agree to ND being auto qualified if in top 12. What's ND going to do if not given this preferential treatment? Boycott the playoffs? Umm, ok.
I drive a Model 3 and use full self driving all the time, so no not worried about that. Have used FSD to go from a house near City Park through windy roads, down 2222, onto MoPac, exit on Cesar Chavez, to house south of the river. Completely hands free. (I might have had a couple of cocktails so this was way safer than me driving). I think it can handle a couple of miles down S 1St to downtown.
Except, they are attending classes at these schools and some actually care about the degree they get. Only 1.4% of P4 players get drafted into the NFL. You can't force someone to attend school in East Lansing or College Station to get a degree that will not be pertinent to their preferred after college career.
Took the Tesla RoboTaxi for the first time in December from my place in Bouldin Creek to downtown. Worked flawlessly. $2.40 was total - no tipping allowed. Waymo/Uber would have been $12+.
Yes. That's the problem with varsity soccer. Only one Texas varsity team to play, so lots of travel. Guess lacrosse has same issue, but at least we already have a soccer stadium.
<old man rant> What is it with people who decide to pull out their phones and video the fire instead of actually helping people get out? </old man rant>
<old man> ah yes, seems like yesterday.</old man> Ha. True. You can probably guess I graduated from UT in '84. So yes, in middle school, high school and in college, the format was great. Once the tournament went to 64, the regular season just didn't mean as much. You just need to pay attention for 3 weeks in March now.
