  1. This pretty much means the Georgia Tech job is Geoff Collins' if he wants it. Could happen tonight.
  2. I totally get this is a pretty big who gives a shit job, but Austin Peay was one of the worst programs in FCS before Healy took over and they got snubbed for a playoff spot last year. It'll be interesting to see if can build an FBS resume and be a name to watch for big jobs 5 years down the road.
  3. It's heroic he made it through the year given everything he went through this season which was in no way a consequence of protecting a wife beating piece of shit.
  4. If he wants to be a head coach again he will. If he's fine being an assistant he'll stay in the NBA.
  5. I'm curious given the new redshirt rules if we'll see guys who haven't played much or at all get some reps in the bowl game if they have good weeks of practice leading up to the game. I don't see a downside of it.
  6. If it happens the Big Ten, Pac-12 and Big 12 should just break off and form their own mini tournament because the committee is saying that they don't matter.
  7. I don't know how good Clemson is. They absolutely belong in, they may be the best team, they haven't been challenged since September and played one good-ish team (A&M at A&M) that was a two point game. I just wonder how they'll play against someone good.
  8. Surely we could organize a chola exchange program
  9. Here is Texas' 3 point field goal percentage by game this season: E. Illinois - 32 Arky - 32.3 ULM - 24 Citadel - 28.6 UNC - 45.8 Mich St - 26.5 Radford- 18.5 To the surprise of nobody the Carolina game is an outlier. This was a bad three point shooting team last year. They're still a bad three point shooting team. They do nothing to create offense. This is an ongoing problem and if Del Conte doesn't give a shit then the program is going nowhere.
  10. So the competition that was named in honor of the men who fought for Latin American independence from Spain will be held in Spain. This whole thing has become a comedy.
  11. That's unfortunate. Hopefully at some point you can make it down there for a game and hopefully people treat you well. I will say I totally get the hate, but I will also say that the enthusiasm Atlanta has is organic and real and given our rep as a bad sports town at least people genuinely care about a team.
  12. Honestly curious, what's your beef with Atlanta? How obnoxiously excited our fans are about the team?
  13. It's fine. Not the best choice but he's a good coach. The bigger thing is why did it take this long to make it happen? There never appeared to be a second choice so why did they waste a year of roster development and end up hiring the safe, predictable choice? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  14. Ohio State almost assuredly needs us to win Saturday to make the playoff which is pretty hilarious.
  15. We're 14th, West Virginia is 16th. That doesn't bode well for us staying ahead of them and getting the Sugar Bowl bid if we lose and Oklahoma makes the playoff. Oh well, guess that means we have to kick Oklahoma's ass.
  16. A couple of Astros pitchers tweeted incredibly nice things about McCann and I know David Ross has said multiple times McCann made him a better player by the example he set. That's a great clubhouse signing. $23 million for Donaldson is a lot, but it's a one year deal so that doesn't matter much. If he's healthy he's a better player than Camargo and Camargo is significantly better than anyone they had on the bench last year and he can give Donaldson days off when he needs them so that's a move that makes them better.
  17. The Athletic is reporting Manchester City is signing Zack Steffen to back up Ederson since Claudio Bravo got hurt after the transfer window closed.
  18. Charlie is a bad head coach. He was justifiably fired. He recruiting a large part of the nucleus of players playing for a conference championship Saturday. I do think he, even if marginally, let the program better off than it was under Mack. At least he helped us get away from the rot. I'm not going to bury the guy. He seemed like a good man way in over his head in a job like this. I'm happy with where we're headed.
  19. LJ has had a meteoric rise this year. He went from 37 catches for 431 yards and a touchdown to 70 catches, 1033 yards and 8 touchdowns with (hopefully) three games left to play. The eye test matches the production. His size and leaping ability make him a match up nightmare. He's not a deep threat which will keep him out of the first round, but he's played himself into a possible second round pick this year. If he comes back what can he do to improve his draft stock? He's not getting faster. He's not getting bigger. It's nearly impossible for him to be more dominant on the field. He's maxed out as an NFL prospect at this point. History isn't kind to players who make huge jumps from the first two years to the third year who come back for a senior year. Coming back can only hurt his draft stock. Anyone who disagrees is viewing the world through burnt orange glasses.
  20. This is false.
  21. UCF

ATLLonghorn replied to FondrenRoad's topic in Football
Alabama is in a clear tier by themselves. Clemson is in a clear second tier by themselves. Beyond that I think you can put Michigan, Notre Dame, Georgia, Oklahoma, Washington State and UCF in a clear tier of teams with a playoff case based solely on record. I think UCF could compete with any teams in that tier. Then again, I think all of these teams are clearly vulnerable given losses on their resume (OU-Texas was closer than it should've been, Georgia at LSU lol, Wazzu vs USC), a lack of belief in one side of the ball (Michigan's offense) and one being Notre Dame. I'm very much in on Oklahoma playing UCF in the Fiesta Bowl to see if one of the teams can score 100.
  22. I'm off the night of the second leg in Jersey. Debating whether or not to go.
  23. Herman's wife doesn't deserved to be shamed like this. Zach Smith is the scum of the earth. Fuck him.
  24. Fuck you bye NYCFC
  25. I know the Texas and Alamo Bowls are good for y'all who live in Texas but they bore the shit out of me.
