Political Cartoons - The Politics Thread.
I think it'd be funnier (and maybe even more accurate) if Trump was the one suggesting the gun control (remember his early comments about bump stocks?), and it was a MAGA supporter (with ear bandage) ignoring him.

Republican Convention - "mill-e-wah-que"
Right? Was the whole thing a bit all along? This has me wondering if he even sucked dick for drugs. My whole hornfans/shaggy/surly reality is shattered. I sat next to Derka at the UNC game at Jerryworld. I didn't say anything to him, but now I'm not sure that that was real. Am I just a figment in an autistic kid's snowglobe?

Donald Trump Assassination Attempt
Jesus Christ. I bet O'Reilly really thinks he came off well. Anyone with half a brain cell could see the bullshit he was spreading. Is it just professional wrestling to people like him? Jon Stewart is a better man than me. I'd end up slapping him... it's not politically motivated if it's just theater, right?

17 year-olds, Dude.
He's the guy in the GOP who wants everything to go back to when you had to secretly be a piece of shit.

I think he's also shook that his secret service or the city that hosts his rally may not be up to the task of protecting him.

Donald Trump Assassination Attempt
Something bad happened to Trump. It's his chance to play the victim. Moth, light.

Donald Trump Assassination Attempt
He also has zero reason to. They will enthusiastically whine about the violent leftists and plead for peace while encouraging people to fight and attack the left. The hypocrisy is part of the appeal. They get to be the victim when you call them on their bullshit. The fact that it frustrates us "on the left" (i.e., any decent person) is an even bigger prize.

Donald Trump Assassination Attempt
Right now, the most important question we need to be asking ourselves is if a teacher left a door propped open.

Texas -- a failed state
I'm sure the findings will end up right next to the findings of that select committee Abbott formed to find out why Texas teachers were leaving the profession.

2024 Presidential Election Thread - Let's keep the party going.
Chance of Trump debating any Democratic candidate not named Joe Biden? Zero. I'm talking Kelvin Zero. They're going to have to sneak into a rally and call him out like Beto did to Abbott.

Roofing (truss actually) Question
I came across this in my "attic" recently. Looking at it, I think I could DIY a decent fix, but I wouldn't mind knowing the (TX) residential building codes for any such repairs. The Google gives me nothing. Did anyone have those codes handy? Or if you're looking at this and know this needs a pro, let me know.

The Supremes
Interesting. If it makes it out of the HOR, I guess she's trying to drag them into the light and shame them? It won't work, shame is a weakness these men shed long ago. But their answers will give us interesting sound bites and give history something to interpret... unless they refuse to show up... and they don't take the 5th... and we aren't in an Idiocracy/Logan's Run Hellscape by the time history gets around to it.

Texas -- a failed state
Imagine looking at that dude and thinking, "Yeah, I'll cheat on my husband with him." That is unless there was some sort of coercion involved... completely possible.

Texas -- a failed state
And they're probably still making in their votes.

Bitcoin mining towns: Texas Republican voters getting fucked by the Republican politicians they voted for
Everything in Texas is a red/blue issue. The reds have had power my entire adult life, yet somehow they can still blame the blues when their policies go to shit.

The Supremes
The 3 dissenting justices need to be campaigning on this. Maybe not going on the trail or making endorsements. But they can definitely speak out on the dangers of an unlimited government. They can definitely discuss their dissent in this case. If Sotomayor genuinely does see this as an attack on democracy, and democracy is worth fighting for, then increasing their visibility is a way for them to get in the fight.
