How does that apply to the CFP?

It's not a big deal because the guideline that applies to teams winning conference championships hasn't been applied yet. They are not getting in over a 12-1 conference champion, and neither is Georgia if they lose to Bama. Edit: C-Man beat me to it.

I'm rooting for Nix and Penix to be knocked out in the first quarter for the rest of the season, and for Oregon to win 6-2 with both teams turning the ball over 5 times.

So what? What teams would also be undefeated having played Georgia's schedule THIS SEASON?

I'm sick of seeing the "they beat the 2x defending champion" argument. What the fuck does Georgia's accomplishments from the previous two seasons have to do with this season?

Yep. I hope they use it wisely.

The Amazing Race 35
The brothers never seem to make navigational errors, and have only had issues completing a few of the tasks. They should be the heavy favorites. I have the father/daughter and father/son also likely to make the final 3. Based on performance to date, the beards should be next to go, followed by husband/wife. Things rarely go as expected, so it will likely be one of my top 3 going this week.

I wouldn't ask that. It's how surly sleuths identify you as someone who stalks women on the internets.

You assume that the evaluations that put Oregon in front of us are carved in stone, never to be reconsidered. They got a lot of credit for beating teams that were perceived at the time to be very good. Many of those teams have shown that they are not so good after all. Texas was in a cycle where we were struggling to put away teams. There's also the common opponent factor which only came into play this week. I'm not expecting Texas to jump Oregon this week, but I would not be at all surprised if they do. If they don't, I will still have hope that they could, not knowing what has been reconsidered and whether the committee has to figure out how to justify Alabama getting into the CFP. They have changed the order of teams every week, even when everyone has won. The order of Oregon and Texas is not immune to that.

If they want a chance to prove that they are the best team in the country, then they should show that they are the best team in their conference by beating Alabama...like we did. Hell, they won't even have to do it in Tuscaloosa.

Many feel that an Oregon victory still gives us a chance due to the many factors that have been previously mentioned. So in that regard, The PAC CCG absolutely applies to Texas. It may seem an insurmountable hill to climb if it comes down to Oregon and Texas for the last spot, but stranger things have happened.

How does that help? There is at least hope that we can end up ahead of a 12-1 Oregon. There is no hope that we will end up ahead of a 13-0 Washington.

I have not seen any real campaigning by Sark yet, which is how it should be. I hope he continues to focus on the task at hand (beating OkSt), and then presents a well-reasoned argument.

12-1 FUCK AROUND AND FIND OUT
I love Texas more than I hate anyone. That's a distinction that separates us from some other fanbases. Hate is nice to fall back on when your team is underperforming, but when things are going well, there shouldn't be much need for it. OU will still be in our conference and we will have opportunities every year to ensure bad things happen to them.

Asking what kind of pie we would hypothetically be fighting over is now stalking? I'm not going to lie and pretend that I don't know what you are referencing, and I can see from your avatar why that was the first context that popped into your head. Unfortunately it wasn't the first though that popped into mine while I was literally enjoying a slice of leftover key lime. Otherwise I might have chosen not to attempt to lighten the mood with a random post about holiday desserts.

12-1 FUCK AROUND AND FIND OUT
Our playoffs started the week after they beat us. I think most of us are ecstatic to be in this position, and don't really care who we play. If it's OU, then we will get a chance for redemption for our only loss, with more of a SOS boost than what we would get with OkSt. If it's OkSt, then we will have an opportunity to leave the conference with scoreboard on everyone. There are positives to playing either. The only negative is the same one that exists in every game.

Yes, and when you combine it with SEC SEC SEC bias, it's almost understandable...almost.

The only way two teams from the same conference are getting in is if FSU does not go undefeated and one of the other conference champs has at least two losses. That could happen, but in that scenario, we are either getting in as a one-loss champ, or will have at least one more loss, so won't deserve a spot. There is no plausible scenario where we win our next two games and are left out over 2 teams from the same conference.
