I’m trying to go on Saturday. I saw Scheffler, Ancer and some other pros do a clinic yesterday at HCC. Ancer and some of the other pros are small guys yet they absolutely crush it. Fun to watch these guys hit balls from 15 feet away.
This. Apple pie in all its forms is glorious. Other than the right kind of apple, the key is to not over do the cinnamon and nutmeg. A little spice goes a long way.
DKR Memorial Stadium itself is, of course, outdoors, but there are a ton of people crammed tightly together in concourses, restrooms, suites, beer/food lines etc.
Frying a 20 pounder again this year. Damn near fool proof and the quality is hard to beat. I bought one of those turkey fryers that holds exactly 3 gallons of oil and a 20 pounder fits perfectly. It comes out just right in 70 minutes.
I made a similar post on this or another Covid thread in the last couple of months. My kids are over 25 and have been vaccinated (as have I and their mother) but if they were very young it would be a tougher decision. It’s clearly not an extreme or crazy decision to choose to not vaccinate your young children.
Yes sir. My first pistol. When I shoot it now along side my M&P or other modern large capacity magazine plastic 9mms there’s no comparison to the BHP. Among other things, the trigger of the BHP blows the others away. I paid around $350 for mine in 1987.
I mentioned the book in other threads but if also fits here. Factfulness by the late Hans Rosling discusses how news is reported and why so many people are ignorant of the true state of the world. The author gave multiple choice tests on world health and wellness issues to many different groups of people (including journalists and Nobel Prize winners) at his speaking events and they always did worse than if they randomly guessed. Most people are pessimistic about the world because, in large part, of the way news events are covered. Fear and panic sells. Rosling presents the facts that show that things are going well in the world and getting better all the time. In case anyone is wondering, Rosling was no right wing nut—he was a socialist MD from Sweden. There here are too many Eeyores here.
SETex numbers continue to improve. Only around 70 new admissions to the hospital today with suspected or confirmed Covid in the 27 county 9.5 million person region. Over 9,000 regular hospital beds available and over 200 ICU beds available.
This is how my father taught us how to ride the ranch with loaded guns. Never have a chambered round in a weapon will driving. Too many things can happen to the safety/trigger. All of them bad.
As I read it, for people initially receiving the Pfizer shots, the booster is not approved unless you fall into one of the covered categories (old, other health issues or work in a high risk environment).
I’m probably unique in this regard, but I hate a long drive after a round of golf. I’m not sure how long your drives will be between locations but that sounds like a lot of driving. I do understand the desire to play as many of the famous and great course on one trip as you can.
It’s been a few months since I’ve eaten at Dozier’s (it was very good) but I drove by there the other day and the outside picnic area with covered tables is nice and it was fairly crowded when I went by. Fulshear/Cinco Ranch area seems to be growing. He’s in a good spot.
Any recommendation for a new docking station? I've had an old Dell tower that I intend to replace with a new Windows (probably Dell) laptop. My wife will have a new MacBook Pro with at least two Thunderbolt 3 ports so it must work with both Windows and Apple. I don't want to have to plug in the power adapters separately each time I dock the laptops so the docking station should have it's own power. Like my station at work, I want to only plug in the USB-C/Thunderbolt to the laptops and be connected and get power to the laptop through the USB-C connection. Any recommendations?
