Non-Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Hide the Money, There's Poor People Around
Tangent but on the SNL 50th anniversary show last night, Paul Simon and Sabrina Carpenter opened up by singing Homeward Bound. Simon introduced it by saying he played it on SNL in 1976. Carpenter said "I wasn't alive then. Neither were my parents." Jesus.

Damn, I was intrigued by Hall. I don't know shit about fuck, but he seemed like he would've been a good fit and had some good insider relationships already formed for short and long term recruiting.- Post a pic that makes you lol
Well, shit, me too.- Post a pic that makes you say "Holy shit."
Would've been a cooler video if the skier in the back had been yelling "I want my two dollars euros!"- 2025 Texas Coaching/Support Staff Thread

I like how in the second clip you can see the dude who looks to have been filming the first clip hauling ass to avoid becoming a fiery pancake.- Post a pic that makes you say "Holy shit."
I just watched Police Story again a couple of days ago. That spinal injury was no joke. The graphic forgot to include that he melted the skin off of his palms and fingers during that same stunt. Armour of God has some terrible injury outtakes too, but damn what a great movie. Jackie is the GOAT.- Post a pic that makes you say "Holy shit."
Yep, hated that video too.- Post a pic that makes you say "Holy shit."
I can't tell you how much I hate those videos. I always watch them, and I always feel nauseated, and I always hate them. And then I always watch them again.- Post a pic that makes you say "Holy shit."
As Jerry Seinfeld said, in that sort of a situation the helmet was wearing the guy for protection. "It's a good thing I was attached to that human or that truck would've hit me directly!"- Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
Duke's is next door, in the Outrigger I believe. The Royal Hawaiian Hotel is the "Pink Palace," the old venerable classic beachfront hotel and one of the first hotels in the state.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
Kamehameha School is pretty badass, actually. It prioritizes admissions of kids with some proof of Hawaiian descent as well as indigent kids and orphans. You can imagine how many of those kids playing o-line are some seriously pissed off motherfuckers. They have some serious grudges. I think it's interesting to know that the school also owns the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, several malls on Oahu, the Four Seasons, a few condos in Waikiki, and a bunch of exclusive properties in Kahala (one of the wealthiest parts of the state). They used to own the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center as well. Many people who have visited Oahu have personally donated to KS without ever knowingly doing so. /csb- Which musician would've put out the best music if they hadn't passed?
Yeah, I was actually trying to think of what musicians were on the precipice of going in a new, interesting direction but for their death. I think some people here have replied along the lines of "I wish I had seen so and so live" or "Geez I really miss that artist." Both are fine, but I was actually more interested in the former. Layne Staley was a good pick, as were Biggie and Tupac. Buddy Holly of course. You can see threads of more deeper stuff, more introspective and complex stuff starting to emerge in each of their catalogs. Artists tend to mature and it would have been cool to see what stuff they came up with had they been given the opportunity.- Which musician would've put out the best music if they hadn't passed?
- Shall we talk about heavy music?
Co-sign. Bolt Thrower always delivers. Whenever it comes up in my rotation, it inevitably leads to volume going up.- Which musician would've put out the best music if they hadn't passed?
Thanks to Steamboat1874 for this idea. On the Cool Pictures of Music Icons thread, he said he would've really liked to see what Buddy Holly would've done with his music had he not died in that tragic plane crash. Got me thinking. So many musicians seemed primed to make a really great turn towards a new sound, but for being killed or dying before they got there. Hendrix was experimenting with all sorts of sounds. John Lennon finally seemed to be at peace with his inner demons. Kurt Cobain was writing mellower, more introspective stuff. Bon Scott was at the top of his game. As big of a Beatles honk as I am, the answer for me is SRV. That stuff he was putting out circa In Step after getting sober -- Tightrope, Life by the Drop, Riviera Paradise -- that was signaling a very cool new direction and I really would've loved to see what he created after that. Goddammit.- Cool Pictures of Music Icons
Thanks for the new thread idea.- Led Zeppelin
- Shall we talk about heavy music?
yeah even though it's gonna be short sets with partial lineups, bad vocals, etc...still, probably the greatest metal concert of all time.- Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread
The list of idiotic women thinking that they truly understand their incarcerated lover in a way the rest of society can't is a very, very long one. I worked in a maximum security prison and believe me, there were no shortage of letters and love requests from outside admirers to the morally vacant ingrates that inhabited that place.- 22% of men (incl. Kevin) don't realize that a chimp would fucking wreck them
"They can talk, but they can't curse. It's the anti-tourette's syndrome of the apes."- Guitar nerd alert: I'm learning the Beatles catalog start to finish
Truth!- Post a pic/gif/tweet that makes you say "very cool"

Got our Kylie Minogue tickets -- she's still sexy af and her last two albums have been a fantastic resurgence. Can't wait. - 2025 Texas Coaching/Support Staff Thread
