How many cases so far in the Houston area? Are they fucked or all of them travel related?

They're all repatriated cruise folks though right? There's gotta be some out in the wild, besides the one who went to the mall.

I can't believe a state as populous as Texas is sitting at zero right now.

I've been working with a physician who had several US conferences coming up that have been canceled. Husband was supposed to attend a conference in LA in a couple weeks which was also canceled. Anyone traveling soon will probably have the luxury of a pretty empty plane.

They have one potential person who works at Rice. They're sending the swabs to Houston health department and being shipped to the CDC. So, they're not really handling it, at least in Harris county. How many cases in Chicago now? 3,4? This may be out of control there as well.

What will this do to the obese population? I have been wondering for weeks if my lazy af co-worker is doomed.

Odd they are going through the trouble of shipping a patient to Utah - wonder where they are from. I wonder if they're from Idaho. Real fly over state, probably less than optimal medical care.

I'm starting to get correspondence on this from the uni I work for. Nothing outright alarming, but I've worked for universities long enough to know that if they're sending emails, somebody is concerned.

Japan has a population problem as it is. They should have taken it more seriously from the get go.

I'm surprised to hear this. I got attacked in a discord earlier for saying I found it worrying. People by and large still don't seemed phased. Maybe the CDC announcement has turned the light bulbs on for some.

India claims to not have any active cases. Seems impossible but who knows.

Relocation Suggestions?
I feel like most of Florida is like this. I guess if there's a sea breeze it's not so bad but it can be unbearably hot. The further south you get, the worse it's gonna be.

Relocation Suggestions?
Snow gets old quick. I started hating it's existence by the third snowfall. Shit sucks. It gets gnarly quickly, the shoveling, the salt wear on your car, the danger in driving in it, the dry ass air. I've never been to Charleston but I think these towns are close to one another. Savannah is great but it's a small town. Maybe live in one and visit the other on occasion.

Relocation Suggestions?
I can't imagine hanging out regularly at The Great Salt Lake. It smells horrendous. It's a once and done kinda place. Edit to answer: I lived in North Central Florida for a long time. Never evacuated for a hurricane (but I've never evacuated in Houston when I lived there either). But I did have a tree fall on the house and pool cage while I was home alone during a hurricane. It was not a pleasant experience. I know people who's families in Miami and Tampa that always stay put. I really like Clearwater. Kinda quiet town near Tampa but there are the Scientologists.

California strongly considering declaring acetaminophen a carcinogen
My aunt od'ed on Tylenol back in the day. As far as we know, it was accidental. She did recover from it but she had a host of health problems which lead to the od (she had severe and difficult to control lupus which wrecked her kidneys). Acetaminophen is one of the few drugs that pregnant women can take. It would really suck if it got removed from the safe list because of this.
