Huahine and Raiatea are similar islands- very laid back, not as many beaches but more hikes and stuff. We biked around Huahine enjoyed it quite a bit. Kayaking the rivers on Raiatea was fun too. Also a lot fewer people on Huahine and the island felt a little more authentic Polynesia.
I took a cruise around French Polynesia last spring. Bora Bora was incredible but my favorite thing we did was “drift snorkeling” on Taha’a. If any of y’all make it to that part of the world, make it a day trip from Bora Bora or Raitea- you won’t regret it.
Ha ha- stayed at a condo down the street from there a few months ago and would walk by it frequently. that place is sketchy as hell these days.
Lanikai may be my favorite beach in the world. my wife loves 3 tables on the North Shore.
I had the opportunity to relocate to Honolulu a few years but ultimately turned it down mostly because we love to travel to Europe and around the country and a home base on Oahu would make that much more difficult. I still make it out there once or twice a year for work. I don't know that I could live there permanently.
We go once or twice a year. My family’s favorite thing to do is get hot and sweaty doing pill box hike and then walking down to Lanikai beach and cooling off. Good photo ops on top of the pill boxes.
Walking around Kalakaua Blvd is fun in the evenings with if you’re staying on Waikiki.
Should do Diamond Head if it’s your first time.
Unfortunately, the North Shore will be a little rough this time of year but there’s some good snorkeling in shark’s cove and good beaches like Waimea Bay.
Skip the east side of the island (Ko Olina)- nice hotels over there but not much else.
if it’s your first time in Hawaii, should probably experience a luau- the one at Hilton Hawaiian Village is pretty good.
Terry has been great but we need a thorough coaching search. He reminds me of Rick Bowness and the Stars. Caught lightening in a bottle and took them to Stanley Cup finals in the bubble. They gave him the permanent gig and he proceeded to struggle the next two seasons. Stars went out and got a good coach and now they’re back on top. Don’t fall in the trap Texas, go out there and find the best coach you can.
Daughter also has essentially full tuition to KU, Mizzou, Indiana. TCU giving her a lot of money too. She’s going to Texas regardless. Feels like we don’t start getting emails about scholarships and grants until a couple of weeks after their acceptance so I’m not sure if Texas is offering anything yet or not.
Daughter got her acceptance to Texas on Monday. Couldn’t be more proud of her. She’s wanted to be a longhorn since she could start talking. Her mom and I met at Texas and she’s rooted for Texas her entire life.
The Point Break remake was on TV the other night and that movie is a steaming pile of shit. The original was cheesy in a good way. The remake had no redeeming qualities.
They are about to pay Schultz like an elite TE when he’s average at best. The problem is that he stands out on a team of nobodies like Gallup, Brown, Hendershot, etc. it’s not like he’s kittles or kelce out there.
“Good” running backs are a dime a dozen if you have a good OL which is why I’m against paying a lot to keep Pollard too.
Cowboys flushing money down the toilet with Dak and Zeke’s contracts next year, you know they’re gonna do the same with Schultz and piss away money there too.
