On Card’s intentional grounding, Sanders was just as close to the ball. Granted, his back was turned and he was blocking, there was still a receiver in the area. If that intentional grounding then Young’s throw was too.
I agree that there’s a huge difference between Ewers and Card in terms of ability but people need to keep in mind that Card was having to go against a top 5 defense and had a bum ankle. Card is still going to be better than probably 5 or 6 of the QB’s on our schedule and he won’t face a defense that good for the rest of the time he’s starting. I think he’ll fill in well temporarily. No reason we can’t still have a great season.
He looked pretty mortal against the aggys last year. Was throwing low passes and missing open receivers. Fingers crossed we can get that kind of pressure on him.
The championship LSU team we hosted a few years ago ended up having one of the most prolific offenses ever and a really good defense. We should’ve pulled that game off but we didn’t. I think it’s extremely hard to win on the road in that environment. I wish the game was at night but I still think the atmosphere will be electric. I think we’re still you young to get it done but I think 20 is too many points at home.
