Please answer my question. Okay
Is portal season over? No
No more OL or LB are available or will become available? More could be available.
Are we not adding anymore players between now and fall camp? Based on Sark not adding any O-line & LB transfers that are difference-makers last offseason and so far this offseason, I don't think so.
He signed the number 1 OL class in the country, including two five stars who are likely to be better than many of the options available in the portal. I don't think they will meaningfully contribute this season. I am also worried we will have a poor season and many of the highly touted recruits will leave. Baylor added multiple linemen via the portal after a 2 win season and then won the conference.
Miss me with the "he's made no effort to rectify the weakness on the team and just sat on his ass the last 4 months" bullshit. He hasn't done it for this season. If we suck again, and lose a lot of these freshmen, how will you feel then?
Sark chose not to improve our O-line & LBs last year through the portal, and that more than anything else, led to a 5-win season.
He has made no effort to rectify that mistake so far this offseason. I sincerely hope he proves me wrong, but for some surreal reason, he (wrongly) has confidence in the crap show we will roll out as starters at these position groups.
This really isn't fair. Our coaches chose against immediate improvements at O-line and LB. I hope we don't ever go full-aggie and get mad at people for having legitimate concerns.
We needed a couple of o-line starters and LB starters from the portal. Neither happened.
7 wins is our ceiling. I don't think we get there. I think we improve to 6-6.
Want to play a fun game? Go to Google and type in "Florida Man" and the day and month of your birth. There are enough crazy Floridians to have multiple wacky events for every day.
I am too depressed about our o-line to go full offseason optimistic psycho, so I am channeling all of my irrational optimism into Ja’Tavion Sanders and what will surely be a first team All American season.
Losing to ULM and UTSA is unthinkable (not impossible) and beating Bama is unthinkable (and impossible) so our season really starts 9/24 at Lubbock. I'd rather be naked and roll down a hill of broken glass than lose to Tech. Still, I am very worried about this game. I think you are going to see our o-line get manhandled by a bunch of 2 stars and JUCO transfers. Will that open the eyes of any of the irrational optimists on this board? I doubt it. There will still be time in the season to improve!
I'd like to end the offseason thread with one last complaint about Sark not getting a couple of quality o-line starters from the transfer portal. Now, on to the spring!
Belichick saw Brady, the greatest QB of all time, every day in practice. Did he go with Tom? Nope, he gave a 10 year contract to Bledsoe. Belichick fell assbackwards into "greatness."
Twice in recent history Jimmy G has had injuries that cut his season substantially short.

Maybe I didn't make it clear. You can not start and get NIL money as an o-lineman at Texas. Likely not the case for Bama, UGA and Ohio State (and programs at that level). After their freshman year, they can transfer to a better program, likely start and then get NIL money from being with those schools. That is my concern about our potential suckage on the field this year.
Being concerned about starting the same terrible o-line as last season is rational. Expecting them to play well is not rational. They can't be coached-up well enough for us to win. They don't have the innate talent.
