Where do they come up with this BS? It literally takes 5 minutes of research. In 1988, when they were handed their punishments from the NCAA for recruiting violations, the NCAA president transitioned from Walter Byer (in position since 1951) to Dick Schultz. Byer was born in Kansas City, MO, went to Rice for a year, transferred to U Iowa, served in the military, was a news reporter in the Midwest, sports editor, then Big 10 administrator before being named the first NCAA executive director. Schultz was born in Iowa, high school coach in Iowa, head baseball coach at U Iowa, head basketball coach at U Iowa, AD at Cornell, AD at Virginia, then NCAA executive director. Byer was at Rice for one year, and that's the only tie either has to the entire state of Texas, much less the University of Texas. It's amazing to me the BS they convince themselves to believe.

They also hid the fact that they had signed him while the QB battle was still ongoing. If they had waited until the QB competition was over and then decided to sign the starting QB, that's one thing. But by signing him, not announcing it, creating content with him, while reporting on the QB competition.... It introduced a suspicion of bias. I think they would've been fine if they had just waited to sign him.

Csb time, A pediatrician I studied under in Houston was on that 1950 team. Dr. Allen Kline, loved talking Texas and loved talking baseball. Pretty sure he worked up until the day he died.

I'm guessing that when the driver of the Jeep started to return fire and two shots hit Miller's windshield, he got the fuck out of the way.

Well damn. Well, I thought it was a good idea lol I thought this format makes sense for 16 teams and 9 conference games :Keeps our permanent rivals (OU, A&M, Arky), keeps most others traditional rivals, and gets us every SEC team within 6 years. Otherwise, I don't know how the SEC is going to try and make the schedule without overcoming things and meeting those wickets (keeping traditional rivals and getting to go all the way around the conference in a timely period, not like aggy playing UGA twice in 12 years).

What I think should happen: 9 conference games. 4 pods of 4 (i.e Texas OUsucks Ole Miss Miss St just as an example). So you play everyone in your pod every year. That's 3 conference games. 3 permanent crossovers from the other pods. That's another 3 games. That leaves 9 other conference teams that can rotate 3 at a time every 2 years. As an example:

Pensacola, Florida my man. Go Argonauts! 2019 D-II national champs. The quarterback that year was Austin Reed, who had since transferred to Western Kentucky and led the nation in passing yards. At the D-II, they've had some recent success. Source: I currently live in the Pensacola area.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2023: Strippers, Monkeys, and 5-Stars

They managed to win 3 of the last 4 mentioned you dumb sip They never played Troy. Even if they would have, Troy would have beat them this year. Troy won the Sun Belt and their only two losses were Ole Miss and App State on a Hail Mary. This year, the bowl game did not count as one of the four, so you could do four games + bowl. Hopefully the NCAA continues that.- 2023 Texas Coaching and Support Staff Thread

Dang. Not that I can afford it right now, but if this was the next Tuesday, I'd definitely be applying for the Immamac scholarship. I live in Florida and can't drive 7 hours to Houston on a random Tuesday. I am going to be in Houston the next Tuesday though as I drive through on my way to San Antonio for my wedding that week. Just my luck this event would be the week before.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2023: Strippers, Monkeys, and 5-Stars
It's already been picked up by several nation wide Twitter accounts lol I guess that's a good thing for Arch... If he ever loses anything, all he has to do is check his Twitter mentions. - Non Texas Recruiting 2023
