If the rich are eaten alive and their fortunes doled out among us serfs, it will only be because they got too fucking greedy. I mean seriously, all they had to do was not ask for and receive that UMPTEENTH tax cut while the middle class stagnated, got poorer, and lost the ability to buy the shit all the rich folks were selling.
  2. Man, there's a void that still hasn't been filled. RIP Hitch.
  3. The Beto 2020 thing on slate was by a dude named Jason Voorhees. Not sure what his axe is. With Sirota, you at least made the connection that he was in Bernie's camp (in 2016) and turned his eyes to what he perceived as a formidable challenger in Beto.
  4. Normally I'm a live and let live guy, even with venomous snakes and varmints and such. But this triggers some kind of caveman instinct for me to gather the tribe and hack this fucking thing into fist-sized bits.
  5. Nothing was more shrill than that op-ed titled "Beto 2020 has no reason to exist." That actually reminded me of some Hillary supporters' attitude toward Bernie in 2016..."Stay out of this old man, it's HER turn, dammit!"
  6. This "Being There" reboot (a/k/a reality) sucks so bad.
  7. Damn it's getting wonky in here. Who knew healthcare could be so complicated?

That's a good, logical guess. But go back a generation or two.

Trivia Question: What famous Texan said the vice presidency wasn't worth "a warm bucket of piss?"

I stand by a tweet I read yesterday. Everyone has Warren in their top 3. We all speed up the primaries, put her on the ballot, and avoid the bloody, costly year-long dem civil war. Beto will get a cool job with the administration. Secretary of Shredding the Gnar or VP or something.
  14. I actually like Dan Pfeiffer [/runs and dives from explosion generated by anti-establishment ire].
  15. LMAO at Jacob Wohl's mom chiming in.

  18. Our current healthcare system is largely based on go fund me pages and sadness. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. There is a minor urgent care place near me that basically bills my insurer what it can and eats anything that is denied by my carrier, i.e., doesn't balance bill me. Longest I've ever waited to see a doctor was maybe 20 minutes, I've never paid a dime out of pocket, and the place is nice AF. I had cellulitis on my neck that required IV antibiotics and an incision to drain it (PM me for pics). I had to stay for a night and it was free and amazing. Though I don't think this experience illustrates the beauty of the market as much as it does the insanely inflated cost of healthcare. I have a friend who is deeply invested in these urgent care type joints, and he said some shit like one of his clinics can see like 8 patients in a day and just with that money cover that day's entire overhread: pro rata rent, payroll, fucking everything. They have mushroomed up EVERYWHERE in Houston, which has a medical center people literally travel from all over the WORLD to get treatment. Will be checking this thread often because (meaningful) affordable healthcare for every American is a fucking real possibility, which kind of blows my mind still and is about the only silver lining in this dark Trumpstorm.
  20. Incredibly sound apples-to-apples logic. What's the matter libtards, cat got your tongue??
  21. Aside from "dyke" not being the [walter sobchak]preferred nomenclature, dude[/walter sobchak], I have been saying this for years. The guy looks like a butch lesbian in every photograph I've ever seen of him.
  22. Looks like our president / most-powerful-man-on-Earth is retweeting Fox News interviews to make his feels all better. Totally normal.
  23. The US steel tariff/Chinese soybean retaliation boycott will be THE definitive example of the negative effects of a trade war for like 50 generations of future economics students.
  24. This is some sound "game theory" right here. Think of the needless suffering we could avoid.
  25. The classical narcissist is hyper-aware of his/her own flaws. They inwardly and privately obsess about them far more than your average insecure neurotic.
